AK Sheep, Population Observations

So......"Before Internet forums" there was nothing, no conservation, no game management, no habitat protection and enhancement. I would say the single biggest negative impact on Alaska animals that are hunted, has overwhelmingly been the internet, and especially internet hunting forums.

I brought it up early in this thread......No one wants to talk about reversing that to "FIRST DEGREE" Kindred only. Which is what it was. There have been men send their 18 y/o Grand daughters to spend a year here so they can "GUIDE" Granddad.

In a bowl the back of Mosquito Creek (out west) watched about twenty wolves racing around pulling caribou calves half birthed "out" of the cow, pulled out and shaken, then race to the next calf half born, and pull it out. There was about (estimated) 300 or 400 Caribou in that snow filled bowl...

See that is "part" of what is removed from "past" hunting experience. Today the "archer" still must outsmart the animal with skill. Zero or very-very little "hunting" skill in shooting and animal at 633 yards. It is no longer hunting (in the classic concept). It is scouting where is the "best"...
