Best option, McMillan or Manners. The McMillan hunters edge I just put on my long action is 11 oz lighter than a B&C. The B&C is a decent stock, an upgrade over factory, and if weight isn’t as important probably a good choice but if you want the best it is going to start with an M.

You absolutely do! You will be surprised how many times your wind is (for example) blowing left to right where you’re standing only to see with milkweed that it goes a few feet and blows right back in the direction it came from and end up on your left.
I just went through a similar exercise and to me it comes down to weight. I think both are decent stocks but the McMillan (at least for my vanguard) is about 10-11 oz’s lighter. I chose the McMillan but my gun was heavy. If the weight isn’t important, save a few hundred and go with the B&C.
