Mystery Ranch Guide Lite or Guide Lite MT Frame

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the newer bag only options are only compatible with the MT frame. So if you think you’ll ever want to swap bags it may be worth it to go with the MT. I like my pintler but the terraframe 50 on the MT frame is hard to beat for the price.

Do any of you all use a smart watch for hunting?

Garmin instinct for the last couple seasons. I use the trackback feature quite a bit. Full maps would be nice but I have a phone for that. It’s not bad for one of the more affordable options

Sierra Gamechanger vs nosler BT at high velocity

Good to hear you’ve had better experiences with them. This was 3 season ago with ammo purchased just prior. I have not used them since then.

Sierra Gamechanger vs nosler BT at high velocity

I can only comment on the Nosler BT’s. I’ve taken 1 mulie buck with the 165gr out of a .308 and was not impressed. Bullet did not hold together well on impact and tore up a good bit of shoulder. From my minimal experience with it, I wouldn’t recommend it for a 300wm

WTB Nikon Scope Prostaff or Monarch 4-16x44 or around that size

I have a Nikon buckmasters 6-18x40 BDC reticle that I was thinking about posting up for sale here. I can send you details later if you’re interested.

    Trijicon Huron

Thanks for the update. I’ve got the Ascent 3-12x40 with BDC target holds on the way that I ordered without checking the eye relief. Might not be the best choice for a lightweight magnum rifle

    Binocular question?

I run the leupold bx4 pro guides. I had the chance to compare them side by side in the field with the diamondback HDs and the bx4s were noticeably better for me.

I Like my Crispis, but I want a wider toe box

I have been using the keen targhees too this season. Definitely a wider boot at the toe box. Found them to be lighter weight than several of the high end boots too. These seem to be a little flatter side which I prefer, especially for going downhill

Daypack / Meat haul with some pockets

I’ve got the MR Pintler. More pockets than I need for organization on the interior. Added pouches to the hip belt for quick access. Guide lite MT frame is great once you figure out the adjustments. I’d pick the sawtooth over the popup based on the frame and ability to switch bags

    Favorite deer catridge/rifle.

.308 win 165gr. All I’ve used for the past several years and no complaints

What is your biggest public land pet-peeve?

Instagrammers out in the wild. The internet doesn’t need to know where the good spots are.

    Spotting Scope preference

I switched from straight to angled. More comfortable for me and I can use my tripod lower giving a little more stability. Easier to glass in towards the sun if you have to since you’re looking down instead of facing it.

Athlon Ares fixed eyepiece for glassing

I recently picked up an Athlon Ares 65mm spotting scope. After seeing threads about other scopes (Kowa, Nikon, etc.) performing well with fixed power eyepieces I am considering getting the 22x ranging eyepiece. Has anyone used this eyepiece just for glassing/locating animals? Would there be any...
