I've been running the SeekOutside Silex with the inner nest and have been happy with it. I like having the two large vestibules for stashing gear along with the bug protection and bathtub floor for moisture control. All in with both stuff sacks, cordage, and stakes it sitting at 47oz. With 30d...
If you look at the numbers the Luxe6 man is more the size of a SO Cimarron. That makes the price difference a hundred dollars, certainly not double. Luxe advertising is WAY misleading. Their 3 man is sized more in line with a Silvertip which is clearly marked as a 2 man less stove and a single...
I did my Remington 700 with Sand Tan Krylon then did the web spray. It's easy to do but take your time. I would also recommend practicing on something round instead of a flat surface. I did a 2x4 first and it looked like chit, then did a piece of PVC pipe experimenting on distance from nozzle...
Nobody on Broslide has a belly. Everyone's built like a brick shit house, packs 100# of boned out unicorn for 20 plus miles, and runs the super duperrist backpacks known to man and beast.
Sorry I couldn't help myself.
Yes, I'm a member of the dad bod club. I wear my waist belt buckle under my...
Don't take this the wrong way because I'm not trying to be a d?!@k, but more than likely you're Tying your shoes wrong. I had this same problem with a pair of hikers that had synthetic round laces. Didn't matter what knot or how many I put in them, they would come undone. I did a search on YT...
Been using this system for a couple years of hunting and on a couple long distance hikes. I can't figure out why anyone would want to rely on something battery operated or more complex with more moving parts.
I carry the coupling for back flushing like the diagram. It's a good idea to pick up a...
Since you're looking at dropping the coin on a DCF for the weight savings, I would suggest a Medium U-turn from SO. I run a regular medium in my Cimarron and am very happy with the results. In the east burning good hard wood I've gotten 2.5 hours. You wont see that kind of times burning Aspen...
A buddy had one a couple years ago on an elk hunt. He was constantly fiddling with it because it wouldn’t work. He ended up just using my Sawyer Squeeze. Not sure why anyone would want to take one if you have to run extra stuff like pre filters and extra batteries, just to make it work?
A cheapie cookie sheet works really well. Had a guy this weekend tell me he wrapped baked potatoes and cooked them underneath on one and it worked like a convection oven.
An 8 man will be plenty big enough for what you're describing. I've personally had three guys on full size cots with a tote each in an 8. The added benefit of flex pitching it down to a 6 man when real-estate is limited would steere me towards a SeekOutside.
SO DST is a good one. I don't no of anyone else that has the center patch like they do. It makes the tarp very usable because you're able to pitch it in several different ways. I also like the Warbonnet Minifly. It's a hammock tarp but you can still pitch it in A frame or lean to mode.
I should clarify and say that my Salomons didn’t leak. The problem was that they weren’t breathable at all. I hiked in them yesterday in 30 degree weather and by the end of a four mile hike my feet were swimming.
I’ve been running the Quest 4d’s the last couple years and have finally gotten fed up with the poor quality gortex so I was leaning heavily on a pair of Crispi Summits. Tried them on in SLC this past week. If you thought your Salomons are narrow, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
