My main physical goal is to complete a 50 mile ultra. Id like to maintain some level of strength by lifting once or twice a week. so to measure that im hoping my deadlift stays in the 350 ish ball park. Id like to do these with out affecting “family time” with the fiance.
If it were me and i was hunting a private ranch, id spend the extra money on a deer tag and just focus completely on elk. if a deer i like gave the opportunity take it. But id prioritize one of the species personally and except you may eat one or both tags. Or you could fill both.
Edit: that is...
To clarify i meant just a hair on the loose side and fits perfect if i have a couple layers and a sweatshirt under it. But i have more of a skinny build so that could be part of it to
Im 5’10 and 165lbs and use a large and it fits nice i think defintaly on the looser side for me but not crazy loose so id think a large would be your best bet or xl
My dad has a thompson center contender i believe, it cost him a 170” whitetail cause while he was sneaking through the woods the bolt half popped up and when he pulled up on the deer it dodnt go boom. So i know i personally want something that locks.
im also a Duluth guy. armachillo to be exact for me. they go on sale all the time so you can get a single pair for $15 ish i believe if you watch there frequent sales. they seem to have good durability. i am up to 7 pairs now that i wear daily, and haven't worn anything else for about 3 years...
i think you cant beat a tripod for glassing. But i usually hunt with one trekking pole and it works great for hiking up steep stuff and when you need to check something at distance or give a quick scan you can drop to your knees and use the trekking pole as a mono pod. It works great for a quick...
Im an outdoorsmans stud user to and i try to talk my friends into it also just to stay on one great system. Theres plenty of cheaper similar options to im sure but out outdoorsmans is pretty tried and true
I personally would see what swarovski would do for you before writing them off. It might not be an issue there responsible for eother but if they treat you right its worth giving them a second chance. I love my swaros to death.
I have an exo k2 and the kifaru duplex light. Both carey weight very well in my opinion. I ise the kifaru mostly just cause i like the bag more. The frames were a tie on comfort for me.
i also think he was in the right as long as he knew where you were and it was all safe. Unless there was a doscussuion before hand. And as long as there isnt drama over him finoshing off a crippled bull but thats all pre hunt details that need to be discussed. Congrats on a great hunt
I dint think you can make a wrong choice. But it is a personal decision. I like a little more zoom and can hold pretty steady but also use a tripod a lot so i use 12x. A 10x is that perfect middle ground until you have the extra money to buy a smaller tree stand set. I also dont think its very...
for me rifle hunting is all around easier. im 5/6 on western rifle tags and 1/4 on western archery (both species in each total). im not to picky yet though, i must just suck. I've had many close encounters with the bow though just never seal the deal. it probably depends on your hunting style...
I know im a fan of having things built in. Like the face masks and the hand muff. One less thing to forget. I just finally got to test the fanatic jacket out yesterday, i really liked the hand muff built in
I agree with above get a tripod for the binos. You 100% will not be happy with a $200 spotting scope they are junk in my opinion. You can spend that money on alot of better things (not just optics) given your situation
No bird dog experience but for chasing bears wed introduce them ar 6 months if the season was on. Theyd generally not do a lot at that age but it exposed them to it. But once in a while a pup would really take it on at that age and be making the chases as vest as they could not being fully...
I dont have one but we take our dog addy to a dog park and see them often. They all are real good dogs from what ive seen. I got a great pyreneese and it definatly helps being gone knowing nobody is gonna mess with them.
For names i always would picture yelling it like mentioned before you dont...
