    NWT Mix bag - 308 or 270WSM

Super pictures and encouraging. I'm leaning to the 308 with 165 AB - these have worked great on several elk. The KM is amazingly light and accurate. I may put a better scope on the rifle VX5HD as I currently have a VX2 3X9. I'd like a dial in turret I think...the cost of this hunt has...

    NWT Mix bag - 308 or 270WSM

Time to start thinking about my upcoming NWT Mixed Bag Hunt - Moose, Caribou and Sheep. I remember posting the day I booked a couple years ago. Hard to believe its around the corner. I'm leaning toward my Kimber Montana 308 with 165 AccuBonds. I also have a 300 WSM and 270 WSM...but those...

Is connecting through Toronto to Edmonton Okay (Delta)

I'm booking my airfare for next year. I can connect through Minneapolis or Toronto. Toronto is several hundred cheaper. Can anyone give me some guidance on this?

    Zeiss Victory Rang Finding Bino

I don’t have a good pair of binoculars. I’ve see that the old model Zeiss Victory RF bino is pretty cheap compared to the new model. While still new, it looks like they are being cleared out of inventory. Is there any reason to not buy a new pair of the old model. They are 1/2 the cost of the...

    New frame for MR Marshal

Called MR to find out if the Marshal fits the Metcalf frame. It does. But the sales person mentioned that the Marshal will have a new frame after first of the year. It won’t be compatible with my current frame. Should I buy now or wait and roll the dice on a new style frame?

Age to bring son on a hunt?

I took all three of my girls Elk hunting in Big Belts at 13 - they never left my side. We slept in a small cabin each night - not a tent. They did better hiking than I did. The biggest issue I had was keeping the kids hydrated. They all shot elk and deer. But again, we were not in tents...

Yes, first sheep hunt. I've hunted elk for years, but binoculars were always adequate.

Spotting scope or deposit for the next hunt

Yes, its a fully guided McKenzie trip. That's the issue, the guide has a spotter and tent is supplied. Do I need to spend the money on these items? there is also the extra weight, but that's a lesser concern. In the end, I'll have $4 -5K in extras that I could use for another hunt.

Spotting scope or deposit for the next hunt

I’m doing a NWT sheep hunt next year. I’m trying to decide if I should buy the tent and spotting scope or use that money as a deposit on a future hunt? I’m choking on all the extra costs - are they really necessary?
