Smoking Sausage: Cold Smoke and Freeze or Fully Cook?

I smoke my summer sausage and sticks on my pellet grill. It's not the most ideal way to smoke because the ends will get hotter faster, but makes use of the tools I have at hand. Just made 25 pounds of summer sausage (pictured) and 15 pounds of sticks (not pictured) last week. For the summer...

    Is Road Hunting Birds Common?

I've shot 15 or 16 pheasants, about that many snow geese, a few ducks, and a few canada geese all from road ditches this fall here in SD. Easy meat.

    Minnesota shotgun zone changes??

It's not that I'm trying to use that as a reason to eliminate the slug zone, but I do find it ironic that I can shoot a .50 bmg at a coyote on our land if I wanted to, but I can't shoot deer with a .357 pistol caliber lever action on the same land. 🤠

Massive Shooting Complex (It's going to be awesome)

Rhetorical questions here... What will the GFP do if the next round of bids comes in over their budget again? Have they tapped into some new funding? Do they have further plans in place to trim the construction scope to fit their budget if this round of bids comes in over budget? I see a fair...

    Minnesota shotgun zone changes??

Might be more people out on deer opener vs a random saturday in the winter, but most everybody is just sitting in stands now. There are very few big family/friends groups left doing post/drive hunts all day long like 20 years ago. I know first hand because I've watched the decline in group...

    Minnesota shotgun zone changes??

Technology has far surpassed the original firearms rules. And to me it's pointless that 20 guys can surround a gravel pit right out of city limits with ARs to shoot coyotes, but the same guys have to use slugs for deer.

Waterfowlers- Advice on adding dog door to panel blind

No dogs allowed in our A-frame. Had one sitting looking out the side door one day 2 springs ago on a snow goose hunt and his tail or back leg hit my buddy's gun. Gun was caught before hitting the ground or discharging but it's a safety issue we can easily avoid by using a dog blind. I won't...

    BOSS SHOTGUN SHELLS!

I haven't tried the new boss warchief loads but I did pattern the 3" 3's two years ago. Wasn't anything to write home about in regards to pattern. If I was shooting sub-gauge I'd probably shoot more bismuth, but for 12 gauge, I'd rather just shoot cheap steel or spring for the occasional box...

Massive Shooting Complex (It's going to be awesome)

I hope construction doesn't get tied up in litigation from surrounding landowners. I wish it was built best river instead of west river though. Guess I'll have to schedule additional time when I visit customers in Rapid once it's done.

Anyone hunt waterfowl from a boat?

Paint it, build a blind, hunt it. Don't think you'll fare well on snows unless you're going to fill your boat with floaters, but snow floaters definitely help pull ducks from a distance. Plus as mentioned, if the birds stage there year after year, there are probably guys that enjoy field...

    Help with Electrician Apprentice tools

When I started tech school for electrical in the fall of 2000, we purchased tool kits at a discount from the local Klein rep. I still have the big orange klein tool box, my tool belt, and about 50% of the original hand tools. Linemans, dykes, 3 of the 5 nut drivers, utility knife, hack saw...

How to mount red dot for dmr

Some of the reasons for a new caliber were increased distances to contact and improved performance against body armor. Testing, testing and more testing. 75th Ranger Regiment got their hands on the system last fall for direct feedback to Sig. Tons of work to be done yet before the system is...
