Traverse and Gradient were pretty much the same thing. Traverse is not wind proof. I wear a Traverse 3-4 days a week in the fall winter spring and the wind will get through the seams on the sleeves.
That's a phenomenal goat for SD public land. Nice work! Half the guys in our group don't even want to hunt antelope anymore due to the herd numbers being so low.
I've been playing with cheap lithiums for a few years now, mainly for smaller stuff - ice fishing electronics and snow goose e-callers. Have yet to have any fail, even when used in cold conditions. Picked up a pair of 30ah XZNY brand for dirt cheap a while back to use for a camping power box...
Most operators will pay more for birds that never had blinders installed. Toe clipping or even cutting of specific primary feathers is used to identify the released birds in many cases. Blinder birds are for grinder hunts. 25 wide marching down the milo on the licensed preserve acres. Blast...
Depends on how the birds are raised these days. There are plenty of bird growers that have large enough runs allowing for a heartier wilder bird. Very few guys would be able to tell the difference between the pen birds my buddy buys and the wild birds on his land. They flush well, are strong...
Panel blinds are generally 15-20 pounds. Not ideal for pack in hunts unless you're using a cart. Do enough waterfowling in various scenarios and you'll end up with a shed full of options. I have swamp seats, 4 layout blinds, a Lucky Duck 2x4 A-frame, four backboards, and four ghilli blankets...
A jon boat or v-hull with a blind on it is an ideal setup here in the Dakotas. We have tons of large sloughs and lakes with cattails or tall grass shorelines or cutbanks to pull up against.
I'd probably go towards the mod or IM if you shoot a lot of 4's. I'd also be patterning at 20 and 30 though to see what you're getting at decoying distances. I switched to 6's a few years ago for the majority of my water hunts because I like the patterns better at decoying ranges and I'm...
In 2012 I put together a business plan to start farming from scratch. I would have been taking over 570 acres of tillable between my dad's land and my mom's/aunts' land. Plan was to work full time for my buddy's farm and use his equipment to custom farm "my acres;" and I would re-invest a...
Been a fair amount of re-designs and consolidations to Sitka's product lines this year which lead to an increase in close outs of old models. But there's been 30%-50%+ sales quite often from certain authorized retailers for the past 5 years. I've gotten minimum 30% off for every piece of Sitka...
Waterfowling and sugar tablet style inflatables aren't a good mix. Too much chance of accidental inflation. Just get a camo life jacket cut to allow for paddling if needed.
Lets be honest...if paratroopers start falling from the sky here in SD, half the state is going to be outside shooting at them like it's a prairie dog hunt within 5 minutes of the first wave jumping from the planes. :ROFLMAO:
