Programs like MTN tough vs hiking with heavy packs

I've done multiple programs. MTN Tough(30-30 and 45-70), Soflete, Mtn Tactical, etc. I would say yes the MTN tough is a solid program, and covers a lot of what is needed. Leg strength, base cardio, movements that assist in building strength and assist in injury prevention. That said, I would...

    Transporting Meat

I used AO softsided coolers with good results. You can fit up to 65# of meat in one 48 can size. That said, I used 2 coolers at approximately 45# to make sure I wouldn't go over the 50# limit. Use dry ice and freeze (max of 5.5# I believe) but I took the ice out at the truck so I wouldn't have...

    300 win mag ammo

Take a look a norma whitetail 150 gr. Cheap and norma brass is good if you reload. I bought a few boxes just for the brass. On the performance side, they seem, to do decent. I had a buddy shoot a decent mule deer with them and they did pretty well.

What to do with rifle while scouting before season

Carry the rifle, leave the ammo at the truck. Even without the recent posts, no way I'd leave my main tool of the trade unsupervised. Same with spotter, I'll carry an extra 4# of spotter versus leaving it in the truck.

Hunting partners…Finding new ones, losing old ones.

Finding a good hunting partner is hard. Don't discount folks you meet in the field. 90% of them will just be a casual conversation, but you can luck out. My main hunting partner I met in Idaho. He just happened to pull into our camp to BS and exchanged contacts after talking. The next year my...

    Norma Brass not Chambering

Thanks for all the replies. I plan to check the things above and see what I come up with. That said, since I have plenty of the hornady brass, it'll be a side project once I get what I have loaded up.

    Norma Brass not Chambering

My rifle is a custom 300 wm (defiance action, bartlien barrel). The brass I had given to me was shot out of a browning hells canyon.

    Norma Brass not Chambering

Has anyone run into any issues with Norma brass having re-sizing issues? Or issues with the belts on this brass? I've been reloading for my 300 WM without issue up until the other day. I typically use Hornady brass ( only fired in my rifle) and was given some norma and hornady brass from a...

    Montana Unlimiteds Success Stories

I've been twice and my hunting partner has been 7 years. I took this year off because I moved to WY and $1200 is steep, especially when you can't devote a lot of time (no vacation days). Like another member said, its getting more and more crowded. My personal thought is unless you have scouted...
