I wear a puffy under my stratus jacket in the stand. Works well, and provides good warmth. Never had a problem spooking deer with it, even when it’s dead quiet.

What zone are you planning on hunting? It’s not out of the question to see a few 140-150 bucks on public in southern Iowa during the rut. There will be other people hunting, but you can definitely get away from them. If you’re in 4 or 5, I’d suggest you don’t even look at anything within an hour...
Definitely suitable for elk. Good shot placement is key as with any other caliber. Just don’t shoot like an idiot, and know the bullets effective range. 6.5 gets a bad rap cause every flat biller thinks they automatically become a sniper and can kill anything they want at 1000 yards with one.
Curious if anyone with an x bolt has played around with a load shooting 230 bergers out of a 300 win mag. I currently shoot 215s, but with them being so hard to find, I’ve been tossing around the idea of shooting a heavier bullet. I shoot a hells canyon LR with the 1:8 twist so I would imagine...
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner, hasn’t been sending me notifications lately. Made out of 420HC stainless steel, sheath is injecton molded nylon.

I have a box of 18 left. I’m about to pull them apart and snag the bullets and brass for my hand loads. Wish they’d make some more damn 215s.
