Point creep got me, I believe it is due to the 5% reduction in NR tags this year. In the past 12 years, it has gone from an over-the-counter hunt to a 1-point draw, to now I assume a 2pt draw. Sucks!
No Colorado for me.
Chasing Elk in Idaho in September though!
Has anyone tied in a vestibule to the front of the courthouse. Would give a little more room. Been thinking about trying to do this, but not sure if I'm better off just putting up a low canopy to store items under.
This is a personal choice. I have been out with and without a tag. Success is based on the entire trip. And you are the only person to make that choice to buy a tag or not. Sounds like you have put in the leg work on research, has he? What is your hunting style, hunt together or each do your...
This is awesome and will be a good trip. My camp is over in zone 12. Trophy Rack lodge is a great guiding service. I've talked to them a few times, good people. The weather looks likes its going to be good for the season! Take pics and cant wait for the story. Keep us posted along the way...
The conserve everywhere! Where RMEF Conserves Map -- Check the link..
Their mission is: Ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage.
They try to increase the herd, open access for hunters and conserve the land the elk herds live on. While increasing these...
I mount mine high as well. Between 8-10 feet. I carry a Lone wolf stick, and then just look for a tree that is leaning or break a stick off behind it. A buddy of mine cut's door stops triangles and used them as wedges for his cameras.
Be careful when using python locks. Do not make them...
Beautiful buck and great story. I have a camp in 2G. Karthaus, love it up there..
Do you guys do an annual trip to the Same area. How far is ur pack in from the truck. Lots of big country!
68 on the thermostat. Fireplace insert burns all winter long. Keeps the basement at 75 probably.
At camp we are solely on wood heat. Still trying to figure out the wood stove. Currently it’s at 76 in the main room..
I run hard scrabble pants through all season. I have 2 sizes so I can get an additional set of base layers one under the larger ones. I’m all about layering. I also run a hard scrabble jacket as well, and just layer up once you get to your hunting locations.
I love my SKRE gear!
Great ending! And kudos to you for putting in the time and effort to do the right thing and find the owner to the rifle! Unfortunately i bet the percentage of people who would have just taken the rifle is way higher than those willing to try and find the owner..
Great job!! 👍
