Looking to buy a Tikka T3/T3x action, stainless, standard bolt face. Long or short doesn't matter. If it's got a barrel on it that works too.
Thanks,
Eric
I've got a Vortex Summit SS-P tripod in great condition. Only light range use, holds my spotting scope and LabRadar very well. Reallynice and lightweight but I've upgraded to a heavier tripod that can also hold my rifle. Asking $80 shipped, with two adapters.
Well, $900 (30%) cheaper is more than a little bit, at least to me. And I love my franken Tikka. But sure, cost no object I'd give my play money to a smith.
I'm slowly buying parts and reloading components for this gun. Realistic dream, as cost no object would maybe be an AnTi action with a Bartlein carbon 400MODBB and March scope or something. But this one may actually happen:
Do you reload? The added mass may mess with the accuracy node, but if you reload it's likely just a seating depth / charge weight ladder run away. If you're loving the accuracy with factory loads, the brake could screw that up. Adding on a tuner like this would fix that though.
Really any action with a standard (308/30-06) bolt face will work. If you get a short action, you'll have to also get a (~$35) long action bolt stop and long action magazines. So the easiest is to get a long action standard bolt face action (30-06, 270 win, 6.5x55, etc).
Feasible but you would have to buy a new barrel and find someone to trade a standard face bolt for your magnum bolt, and get a short bolt stop. Honestly probably better to sell and buy a CTR or Tac-A1.
LRI and JA Outdoors are the only places I know of to buy Tikka bolts, and they're >$350 which...
Awesome setup, and crazy light. How are you liking the Carbon6 barrel? I've been planning basically the same setup, though with a 284 Win barrel and likely the Athlon Helos Gen2 2-12.
