Last year my brother requested that I build his first rifle for an upcoming Elk hunt. He had been bow hunting for a couple of years and wanted to experience late season rifle. Knowing that he is kind of a minimalist and would only own one rifle I felt the pressure to get it right. Narrowed it...
Looking to trade 2 boxes of 100cnt 7mm Berger 180gr Hybrid for an even 2 boxes of 7mm Berger 168gr VLD Hunting. Bought these on a whim for my 280AI and after running the ballistic numbers they are better suited for a magnum.
Looking to trade for Outdoorsman’s tripod and micro/pistol head, or swaro wide angled eye piece for STS or sell for $750OBO shipped to lower 48. Used for one scouting trip and was blessed with a swaro spotter as a gift. Like new with box and everything included, no scratches on lenses.
Just made it back home from 34 early this morning. Colorado rescue and recovery was headed in as we were headed out. You will need 4wd and chains just to get around coffee pot and that is not a guarantee.
Well did you find a partner and have a good trip Huntin GI? Similar to you my first Muley tag drawn for Colorado was this year in 34 for 2nd season as a leftover. I went and scouted back in August and kind of like you said I found more elk than deer go figure. Have elk hunted the San Juan and...
It’s not heavy but a 160 hammer over IMR 4831 has me right around 3300. Not sure the distance you are going to hunt but this puts me right a 1.9mil at 500yrds. Flat and hits like lightning, allows for a larger error of margin.
I am a left that finally began swapping things over a few years ago. My most recent build is a 7 saw with WTO switch lug. My advice for a lefty is buy a long and short action in something you can do barrel swaps on without smith. All of my actions are either big horns with remage or switch lug...
162eld with 55gr of IMR4831 @ mid 2900’s is boring consistent in my 26” 1 in 9 twist. Could push it harder but summer temps are 100+ and this loads works in all seasons.
