Just got my second batch oh hammers, pretty sweet bullet. Same exact boat as you playing with a switch from the 180ttsx. I’ve got h4831 and RL22 I’ll update you once I get some time in.

Thanks for the advice and build break...
My wife and I and our young son just relocated from Small rural town in WA to Billings, MT. We’ve found everything about it to be a major trade up in every way! People are awesome, traffic is non existent, and Housing is affordable. Lota of awesome fixer uppers, and reasonable land prices for...
Smells like a sour barn yard in my opinion. At least that the only way I can describe it. Typically if I smell them without seeing the beds, wallows, Piss, rubs…they are reasonably close. If your seeing beds, wallows, piss, rubs…..and it smells it’s typically pretty dry weather and it could be...
Thanks! Very helpful. I also use hornady brass, and ive been using the federal 215 m primers. All information is helpful as this is my first 300. Been a 7mm rem mag guy forever. Finally traded one in for a rifle purely for elk/moose.
Under 400 leaves you many options. This is my recommendation. Might consider Tikka as they make some extremely light & smooth action rifles. But brownings are also great rifles. Just my opinion.
Moose/elk - 7mm Rem Mag & 160g partition.
Deer/antelope - 6.5 CM & Barnes TTSX whatever grain...
Thanks Axe. I’m still in the process and super interested in the 200g ELDX as I’ll be reloading and wouldn’t mind a heavier bullet. Curious how many grains of powder seems to be the sweet spot?
Also have seen such mixed reviews on bullet fragmentation with ELDX. Would love your personal...
Just bought Christensen Arms 300 mesa win mag, and in the same boat. This is what I’ve found for a solid accurate hunting round. 180g Barnes TTSX maybe tougher to find but pretty available, or 180g hammer bullets are badass and almost always in stock. Both Solid copper. Hammers are a Little bit...
So I recently moved to Billings, Montana. If you ever got any questions or need a push in the right direction. I got lots of info, not sure I can do private DM yet as I set up this morning. But send me a message I’ll respond as soon as I’m able.
Grew up in Washington hunting Cascade Roosevelts modern and archery. Not sure where you are, or elevations but this is my personal expierence.
Late season younger bulls where typically bachelored up 2-3, Mature bulls typically did it alone. The areas we hunted were very high pressure with 5%...
New to the forum. Not a big computer guy so hadn’t heard of this. Just moved and realized you can only talk so much hunting with your wife. Buddy pushed me this direction. Thanks for having me and fueling the fire.
I’ve read into elk 101 a bit, lots of good information but typically...
New to the forum. Thanks providing a chance to talk Elk with my morning coffee. Just moved and don’t know anyone to talk it with. Figured I’d hop in hear.
I’ve always found for myself it depends on the season your hunting them. For Rut hunting I’ve always killed bulls 10:30am - 2:00pm. I’ve...
