Well screw it. I’m convinced. I’m picking up a 6.5CM and gonna give it a whirl. I got a bull tag and an elk b tag left this year. Will see what some 143eldx can do!
Thanks for the intel! My brother shoots the 143g ELDX and loves them and that’s what I shot my muley a week back with. I question why I’m still so skeptical after watching his success match mine with a 300wm.
For all the reasons you just mentioned. Iv never been a 6.5cm guy, not a fan of the trend, and still baffled at the success I’ve seen. I think the 7mm-08 so I don’t have to feel like I need a flat billed hat. Lol
Hi All,
Background: I currently own a 300WM & 7MM RM. That said, Iv taken big Muleys, Elk, and Antelope with these rifles without problem but really don’t enjoy shooting year round with them. Consistently my brother who I hunt with uses the same 6.5CM with Burris 3x9 and tags out on the same...
Nah, I’ll absolutely use it if I get drawn. Just my dads first year to hunt archery and apparently he didn’t get his application in…..little did I know.
Hi Guys,
I live here in Montana but new to any sort of special draws. I turned in a permit application for Archery Elk out of Ashland, MT which is a near 100% draw for residents such as myself. That said, there may be a slight change in plans and I was wondering if it’s possible to turn in the...
Wanted to update you guys! Appreciate everybody’s feed back. The images are starting at 68.5g and going up in .5g increments. Group 2 was a two shot group due to loose primer. Decided on group 6.

Hi Guys,
I’m somewhat new to the reloading game. That said, a good friend passed away and left me a few rifles and 500-1000 of these 30-06 casings labeled LC Match 67. Most seem to be in good condition, and some with some really light green patina as you would see on brass with age. My question...
Wish this kid the best, and an awesome hunt with his dad! Good word from the few guys that helped him out.
Love seeing all the negative comments as all the truck hunters squirm watching someone else have success. As a Montana Resident it’s good to get confirmation there are a lot of guys out...
Encouraging to see post like this. All the negative, and sarcastic responses to young guys being honest and forthcoming is brutal to watch. Great to see you pay it forward, and not be intimidated by someone else’s success.
Sounds to me you respect em enough to do just fine. I’d say don’t wander to much after dark, keep all food clean and away from camp, and Bear spray/side arms are must haves in my opinion. In general just keep your Witt’s about you and hike with your eyes up….I know your feet are interesting but...
