    What brand action would you choose?

    I would go long action so if you ever decide you want to switch to a 7 or 300prc you can. I built a 7 prc off of the zermatt origin action. It is the best budget friendly action out there, and there are tons of prefits available if you want to “build” a rifle

    After owning a 7 prc, I would say jump upto the 7mm over the .277 if you plan on shooting deer and elk at distances over 350.

    Preferred 7mm bullets for elk

    I had good luck with the eld x 175gr out of my 7prc I took down a bull at 520yards. Look at the 162gr eldx due to twist rates. You might also want to look at hammer bullets for deep penetrating options.
