Unless you're shooting bricks I would never pay that much for field points. Cheap field points fly the same and you can toss them if they get bent. I do like the IW broadheads though.
I went through all of the above mentioned, I'm 59. My issue was my L4-L5 vertebrae had slipped and was putting a kink in my spinal cord. This was causing severe pain and numbness in my left leg. My job for 30 years was pretty physical as well as many years of backpacking and packing heavy loads...
I had a pack rat take up residence under the hood on top of the block in SW CO. It was amazing how much it packed in there in one night, pine cones, mushrooms, sticks, grass. Luckily I looked under there the next morning. When I opened the hood I saw the rat run down on top of the tire. Would've...
A good place to start is to figure out which part of the state you want to go. The western side of the state (from I-25 west) is the mountains. There are hundreds of high country lakes and streams that hold trout. If you backpack into a wilderness area you'll find less fished areas and easier to...
I've got two Borah Gear bivy bags I purchased new in 2016 for my wife and I. One has a left side zip and the other a right side zip. I had hopes of using them more but ended up only using them once under a tarp. I'll sell one of them for $80. If interested let me know and I can send a pic or two.
For me, if it's 20 yards or less and straight on I'm sinking it in there. If there's a slight angle, I'll pass. I've only taken 1 bull with this shot at 8 yards walking toward me and it was over quick. I'll never forget watching that arrow disappear.
As stated, any of them razor sharp will work just fine. Personally, I have shot a lot of animals with the Grizzly, I get good arrow flight, good blood trails, and most animals I've shot with them have died within sight. I've shot a lot with the Magnus too with good results but never tried the...
Yeah the fake tame elk with caribou antlers in the opening scene set the stage. Then he fired his revolver into the air and the hammer never moved, and more crap from there. You think they would have an advisor on set to make it more credible. I've enjoyed reading all the books and hope the...
I started carrying two or three glowsticks for late night packouts. I'll hang one with my meat bags and a couple on the track. It makes finding the meat way easier in the dark. Also, could come in real handy for a rescue crew to find you after dark if needed. They weigh close to nothing and last...
