Im a huge Fan of big Shot Targets. They have good mass and easy 2 finger arrow pull. I use for my Compound, Traditional and Crossbow. I also have the big one that sits in my backyard as well.
You read my mind but I also have to keep in mind that some spotters will need more meat to attach just to consider other spotters will need to mount farther back or more forward. but yeah your 100% I want to make it as lean as possible to save as much weight as possible.
Thought about doing...
Im going to Mach one up without my parts I had laying around and see what that looks like. Im guessing I could make this for under 150$ including my labor.
I can make these for anyone that is interested. Very easy to put together. Id have to source a arca swiss plate and 2 clamps along with a ballhead for the Binos on Amazon but they are relatively inexpensive. I have this one in the photos setup with the understanding you can spin your spotter on...
4090 summed this up nicely. Not to mention you have an insane field of view with the Binoculars being 10x32 Where as the Spotter can zoom in to 15 and 45x so if you see something with Binos and have things lined up right you should be able to see it with spotter just much closer. You are correct...
Inspiration was I wanted to try it out and see if it works for me. I dont have to hotswap spotter and Binos. You said the other which was the not loosing track of animal.
Dont know how much interest would be for this but thought Id share. Been looking to run my spotter and Binos all on one setup for minute. Found out Outdoorsman quit selling theirs but even so 340$ for that thing is obscene. So I made my own setup using their little discontinued design.
Piece...
So Im looking at the no longer made Outdoorsman Dual Mount and the design seems simple enough. If someone has one they want to let go of please reach out. Or maybe you want to keep yours, Id love to chat and get some measurements so I can make my own.
No Longer needed See Post I did on making...
https://cameralandny.com/shop/athlon-optics-ares-g2-15-45x65-uhd-45-degree-spotting-scope/bcd713a0-f99d-0137-81e1-00163ecd2826?variation=2075676 That be the deal its 120$ off through Cameraland for the Athlon Ares UHD 65 inch Spotter. Its a nice setup.
You only need to pay taxes if you make a profit off said sales. Since most of our stuff is sold way below new price value. Also there is a ledger in paypal and other Services we use on what you have bought or paid for something if you picked it up used. so it should not be to hard to show the loss.
this would be amazing. I am sold on the Athlon Brand so far. Just got mine and i am floored by the view and color Fidelity. almost no Chromatic or Fringing. Wondering if others see it differently. I know the Maven and Ares are just about the same models from what Ive heard. Very curious to hear...
Like I did. I also ordered the Maven Stay on Scope case and it fits perfectly for the Athlon Ares UHD Spotter. Thought I would share incase your after a bit better quality case then the Neoprene case that comes with the Athlon
Got my Ares today. This is a very nice spotter crystal clear image. I have 0 regrets. If you have not gotten yours yet id order soon. Well worth the 530$
Preface: If your set on using the Grail then you can skip reading the rest. But if you want a tried and true alternative that has worked for many hunters and backpackers then read on. My intention is not to veer the topic but give you another alternative route.
I have never been fond of the...
Hey Tahoe this has been a great thread. Wife and I live in Littleton and are looking at finding some property up in the mountains to take our camper up to when we want to get away from town. Cabin would be nice but not necessary. Your thread is inspiring. Thanks for sharing the journey man. Hope...
