    PSA: Shut the DAM Gate!!

No kidding. I'm always excited when I roll up to a nice swing gate. The barbed wire ones, which are most common, can be a pain.

    PSA: Shut the DAM Gate!!

I get that. But they also don't need to put up sparky signs. A simple "please close the gate" wouldn't have bothered me at all. I'm so tired of them acting like they own the leased land.

    Do you believe in ghosts

Our last of 3 dogs passed away while we were in Alaska this August. As she aged her laying on the floor was more of a "fall" with a distinct sound of dropped a Boulder. We've heard it multiple times since we've been home. That and the dining room lights flickering when we make deer/antelope...

Same experience here a number of years ago on a stock. Good to see they are still great to deal with.

You guys ready for hunting season?

What season tag do you have. Weather has been great this week. Snow is way up there. Unless you're hitting 12k feet I wouldn't worry about it if 1st season.

    PSA: Shut the DAM Gate!!

Other side of this experience. Was antelope hunting my favorite spot this year. I ALWAYS leave a gate how I found it or what a sign says. Public two-track, federal land. Sign on post next to gate says "Close gate or stay out!!!". Wanted to leave a note saying "You're welcome for using my/our...

Can't help but wonder if this is another newbie up your post count thread. Maybe I'm just cynical.

We have officially come full circle!

Thanks. We can't use 223 for big game here otherwise I'd be adding one. Have BTs and ABs for our 30.06 and 7mm-08 too. Finding bullets is still difficult.

We have officially come full circle!

@Formidilosus have you taken elk with the 95BT in 243. Testing a load this weekend with that combo. If it wasn't the first rifle i bought my son 14 years ago it'd be down the road. I like 243 but this thing is extremely picky. May add another Tikka to the stable so I can have a 243 that shoots...

    Meat Grinder

I went from the small Cabelas DC grinder to the 1.5 hp Meat brand. The small one met my needs till it finally wore out but man, the new one is ridiculous.

How much hunting does your wife let you get by with?

My wife laughed when I read her the title of this thread. 25 years together and I'm not quite 44 years old. I hunt when I want. She hunts with me as often as possible. I have better vacation at work so there are a few boys or solo hunts each year. Nobody I'd rather hunt with than her. She's...

    Consensus on campers at trailhead??

Had this scenario during muzzleloader elk this year. Some crew set a huge camp at the end of the 2 track right where one would park to access the trail head. We went in a different spot that didn't have a trail but I walked right through their camp on the way out. Based on the ATVs and side by...

    Leaving Blackhorn 209 Loaded

How long do you leave your barrel fouled? Mine is stainless and I've considered going that route too since I'm using BH209.

    Leaving Blackhorn 209 Loaded

Appreciate the replies. It went bang just fine. Missed the antelope but at 190 yards I doubt the miss had anything to do with the powder.
