the inner fender well can be the issue. If you make a hard turn and go over a bump you will tear something up. Aftermarket modifications are what I would do. I had a Chevy 1500 work truck I had the shop turn up the torsion bars and put a next size down tires on. Ran chains on all 4 no problems...
Depends on weather, what animals you’re hunting, terrain etc. in warm conditions I killed a deer 5 miles in and packed it with camp out in 1 shot. Elk I try not to get further than 3-4 miles from the truck.
I don’t know of any studies except my own scientific experiment. Shoot with a brake, unthread brake and shoot again. Conclusion: my brake was very effective. Now the rifle is suppressed, much better.
