I also view this as part of the natural cycle. It's the same as when a band gets popular and the "I liked them before they were this popular crowd" has to chime in. I haven't noticed any changes in quality on Sitka stuff from recently so I'm not worried about it.
To me the quietness of the fanatic wins out. I’ll stay dry in a light snow in it for a whatever, 4 hour sit in the fanatic. To me the incinerator is too loud for a standalone bow hunting suit, and too expensive for a mostly gun hunting only suit. To be honest, I’m picking a better spot if it’s...
I can’t directly answer the question, but I use Nikwax and I think it would be a real stretch. You put it on and it dries, then wear it for quite a while where it breaks down and dries out and degrades. Then you wash the clothing. I’d be shocked if it was still chemically intact enough to cause...
Has anyone killed anything with a Norma Evostrike? They shot really accurate for me and claim some level of fragmentation, but I never killed anything. They are lead-free.
I just checked mine (about 100 rounds since I set it up). They were both still tight. But because I can’t stay off the internet I pulled them out quick and put them back with loctite and re-torqued to spec.
Whenever people use this example it’s always like a ping pong ball vs something 50 times heavier (or more)…
In reality a 180 grain bullet is only 20% heavier than a 150 so it’s likely to me you’d have to shoot a lot of animals to see a difference
I’m kind of pairing this with the short barrel craze. My 16.5” .308 only has a muzzle velocity of 2540 and thus my impact velocity at 300 is (calculator says) only 2154 so that lines up with a long range hunter at probably closer to 500 or so.
I think some of these reactions remind me of the follow up video where the guys with the 40% hit rate to 600 are still confident on an animal to 600.
If I assume I’m as good as those guys, even a 40% hit rate to 600… Sure, I could convince myself that all my misses were just barely off, and...
