I live in western Montana and the past few years it has been hot the first and maybe second week of September, then come the third week and its game on for cold and snow. I think it was three years ago, second week of September, we got hit hard by cold and snow, and I'm talking teens and...
My truck was side swiped right before archery elk opened three years ago, my insurance company got my rental truck and when I went to pick it up, every one had P rated tires on them. I asked about a truck with heavier duty tires and was told they don't put them on, and sure enough, on opening...
I had to put new tires on my Cummins as the duracraps were trashed at 31k, I wanted to go back to Toyo MT's or try the RT's, the guy at Discount tires told me that he didn't have any in stock and would not be able to get me a set for awhile as they are on national back order. So he suggested the...
I had to replace the duracraps I had on my Cummins, I wanted to go back to the Toyo MT or the Toyo RT since I've had good luck with them, but the guy at Discount Tire told me that they are on national back order, and wouldn't be able to get them for a couple of months and since the duracraps...
You'll need horses, I do know one guy that hunts there, but he goes in like 12 miles and the numbers of elk are WAY down, and he covers a lot of ground to find them. So if you don't have horses, be prepared to work hard to find any elk.
The last couple of years, access before the last part of May and early June has been spotty at best in this area due to snow. Me personally, if I was traveling to hunt, I'd go later in the season just so I knew I could access spots.
So I was quarantined October 23rd, didn't start showing any symptoms until about the 30th, all it was for me, was a bad head cold and congestion. I think the worse was the headache that didn't go away, it lasted like three weeks, but towards the end of my sickness is when I lost my taste and...
Hopefully not too crowded? This summer it seems like there is people all over, and when the orange army shows up, it's non stop traffic and people until the end of season. I've seen people in places this year, I've never seen anyone before, so be prepared to have company.
The rental trucks come with P rated tires and here in Montana, the rocks eat those tires. Two years ago, my truck was sideswiped during hunting season, I ended up with a brand new rental truck and it had P rated tires, I ended up shredding two tires while out hunting, luckily I know the guy who...
I had a woman therapist who was the meanest one out of the bunch, my doc, who is a family friend and my surgeon, recommended her and she beat the hell out of me, but was also the best one for me, as she was able to break the scar tissue and get my mobility back, which by the way, hurt like hell...
I've had both shoulders done with the same surgery, the left one, I had to have the joint reconstructed as it was misshaped. The left one took me 7 months to be able to be back to normal and the right one was 9 months, granted, my tendons were complete tears and the doc had to reattach them with...
I have 10 ply duratracs now on my truck, while they grip good, they get cut really easy in the rocks and last weekend I cut the sidewall on a tire. Plus they're a softer tread tire and I'll be lucky to get 40k out of them. After this set, I'll go back to Toyo's which last longer.
My last mule deer buck wasn't good at all, I shot it the last week of season here, gutted it, dragged it out to the truck in a sled, hung it up, skinned it, and butchered it the next day and it was by far the worst tasting deer I've ever had. I ended up grinding everything from that deer and...
When I was in Navy, had a chief call a guy a SLUF, he asked the guy if he knew what that stood for, the guy, who was short, said no, chief tells him, short, little, ugly f@$k...I about died laughing.
