I've got about 30 miles with 33lbs in mine so far, I know not a ton of weight but thought I'd post my initial thoughts. Packs I've used in the past are - Kelty Red Cloud 6000, Badlands Sacrifice (twice before it was sold), Wilderness Packs Bighorn.
-The lumbar pad does take some getting used...

For you folks running the inline filters, do you ever use powder drink mix's like WA or Gatorade? If so I assume you just filter the water to a clean bottle then mix it up. I was really interested in the inline filters but usually out a mix in my platypus bag, and assume that would be a no go...
I have the 5000 on pre-order, sounds like it should be shipping next week. Cant wait to give it a go on some multi-day scouting trips before archery season.

In addition to the normal items, I pack about half a roll of vet wrap. It's great for keeping moleskin on. If needed it would really help with bandages or splints.
Late August and September will be archery for Rockies here in Oregon. Sitka blacktail trip to POW, in between elk hunting. October rifle for Muley's here in Oregon. November will be OTC Whitetail in Idaho.
It's definitely exciting that archery season is right around the corner. Finally!
