Very true. I’m honestly not upset about it at all. Kept me hunting for the rest of the trip.
And as far as the hunter at the bottom, I am quite certain somebody out there probably has a similar story with me in it.
I had spotted a great opening morning public land bull the evening before in a glacier chute about a mile and a half further from my glassing point. Came out in the dark with a battle plan in my head for the morning. Morning comes and Im heading up the mountain above camp and as I crest the top...
Went to the site. Pretty cool group, trying to keep wolves in check.
As far as blind calling in griz country I also considered taking my saddle. Would allow me some more security. Or find myself trapped in a tree…. Hahah
Ive hunted mountain lions for ten years so I am very comfortable with not being the top predator in the area and calling using a hard back drop. Grizz is just next level.
And I agree with you. My tags are not the priority. We are there for his elk tag. Long story short there may come a period...
I think this is the best place for this. Due to a malfunction of the Idaho queue system I was unable to get an elk tag, but my buddy got his. Still wanting to go I will have a pocket full of predator tags. I have hunted Idaho for a number of years now and I am well aware where we are going is...
Also, it has a handy dandy SOS button right on it. Gets the cavalry coming. Trust me. I accidentally hit it (messing with it in the menu, the physical button is under a cover) in Idaho, but canceled it immediately. Spot called damn near every person in my family until my wife calmed everyone...
Did you find something? My SpotX updates pins to maps people can log on and watch in real time. I have mine set to pin every ten minutes. No phone service required to work with it. Stand alone satellite system.
Also, I usually forget to shut the thing off and it sits in my pack in the cold...
I have a see through blind, with two see through walls, not that brand but same thing. It worked well for deer, had many occasions at 10 yards that had no idea I was there. But you have to be careful with where it is compared to the sun!
If you watch all the review videos I never saw a single...
Taken many critters with the 165 TSX and IMR4350. Biggest was the bull in my profile. 500 yard shot and he went 10 feet. 9.5 of them were gravity…
Switched to a 6.5cr for a deer rifle but the 165gr 300WM will always be my mountain rifle
Yes, I had seen that message at the bottom. However my thought was, “who in the world would log out to log back in and get sent back to the line” I didn’t (and still don’t really) understand how it could get logged out and maintain your place in line. As far as the proxy tags, it says 5 but...
Yeah, I was there during the old system too. When it changed, that really sucked haha. It wasnt until this thread this year I learned that somebody can buy 20+ tags for others though. Thats just…no
Just got off the phone with IDFG, they are receiving a ton of calls and emails regarding the forced log off issue. They said at this time they are “still trying to narrow down exactly what happened, and to email the liceses email with your situation” so…I guess that’s that. I’m sure nothing will...
Yup. I got kicked out when my number came up. I was 8842. Buddy got in a half hour later and got the tag we planned was still there. I had relogged in immediately after getting the boot and was 74k+ Bad part is they are just going to say “sorry, that sucks”
I had the same thought. Figured there are tons of magazines, but I wasn’t sure if they came out as digital copies anywhere searchable that they might pop up.
