Swarovski V5i vs V6i scope comparison

The z5 and the z6 use the same 4-point coil reticle erector system but you be limited to one revolution of turret travel if you use their zero stop with any Z-series swaro scope. The Z5 is a 1" tube vs 30mm tube on Z6 models. Each offer the option of illumination. The Z6 has HD glass if I am...

    Best swaro 65mm pricing?

Cabelas/Bass Pro often gives 10% off your full online order. If I were a retail shopper I would check into a demo as most are indistinguishable from new.

    All New 2022 Tundra Leaked.....

I am a current F150 owner and more than likely I will buy the 2022 tundra for a jump in quality over any other reason. I am just so tired of the constant small things with my ford, past chevy, etc that are just not built to last. Toyota may not be the leader in ground-breaking innovation but my...

    New Binos from Leica

Mine had internal fogging as well, and for me this happended during an expensive Alaskan hunt. Leica warrantied it as expected, but without a backup rangefinder I would have been screwed.

    New Binos from Leica

Ah, I see they are not only more compact, but feature new technology. Hopefully the optical trade-off is worth it.

    Central Asia 2022

I have hunted Asia quite a bit and I am a prefer a .300 win for several reasons. First, Asian animals are tough, and for that reason I would rather use a 200 grain bullet vs something only 130 or 140 grain. Second, you will never find 6.5 prc, 7saum, or any other type of non-"standard" ammo if...

    Arcteryx rain gear

I like the Zeta AR. 70 denier fabric with a 3-layer pro shell, pit zips and the softer c-knit backer makes it more comfortable and less noisy. Too bad they discountinued this model. Any 3-layer gore tex will be a much better waterproof barrier than the Kuiu you have been using for extreme...

    Hard Shell Options

The best hard shell is pne that uses a 3-layer gore tex pro shell. Get on that uses a c-knit backer if you want a softer, more supple fabric that isn't as crinkly. From my experince this is still the best waterproof membrane on the market if staying dry is the #1 priority. Some companys will...

    Covid Booster

"The vaccine was not distributed until this year and not widely distributed until middle of the year, and even now only slightly above 50 percent vaccinated so it is obvious why the majority of deaths occurred in vaccinated." Its actually over 60% in this country that are vaccinated, and...

    Covid Booster

No vaccine is 100% safe, but yeah, your right. It is much more likely that our government, and virtually all of the world's governments, are secretly conspiring to put money in Pfizer's pocket at the expense of our own population. Make sure you don't get too close to the edge of that flat Earth...

    Covid Booster

Of course any statistical information can be skewed, but I have full confidence anyone who wants to look up the data has the ability to do so on their own. The trouble is, most will only seek out data that reinforces the opinion they have already formed, its called confirmation bias.

    Covid Booster

I haven't been boosted yet but I absolutely will before my next international hunt. Myocarditis risk from the vaccine is anywhere from 1 in 6,000 to 1 in 40,000 (from peer-reviewed studies). Risk of severe Covid, depending on demographic, is about 1 in 100 to as low as 1 in 1,000. For me...

Help me decide my next scope for 300prc

My understanding is the mil-spec mark 5 and the over-the-counter mark 5 are not the same scope. Besides, I don't think uncle sam has a history of buying the very best product available as much as they like to give out contracts to the lowest bidder. If you have a mark 5 and are happy with it...

Help me decide my next scope for 300prc

If you are planning on any significant hunts, international travel, etc, I would not even consider leupold. On paper they make a nice product with cute features and I would agree the glass is much better than the leupold of yester year. Sadly the failure rate, issues with zero retention, etc, is...

    Optics setup for Kodiak

If you are going guided I would not take the spotter and save yourself the weight as the guide would/should certainly have one and there isn't any need for more than one.

Kowa TSN-99a vs. Leica APO 82

I recently owned the Leica 82, the Kowa 88 and the Swaro 85 and tested all three side by side on three tripods. The kowa 88 was, to my eye, the best of the three in the 80mm class of spotters, so the 99 can only be above and beyond when compared to any of the others.
