I agree, I think it will be nice to use different limbs or change if I want. Tuning , etc I will have to study a little in but I believe it will be a nice option.
I have shot a border covert hunter 17" riser and hex 7 limbs and I also did not really like the grip. But with the tempest I can choose the grip i want.
Wanting to try an ILF setup and leaning towards the Border Tempest riser with CV9 limbs. This will be 90% a hunting bow so wanting to come out somewhere in the 62" length and 50-55# draw weight. My AMO draw length is 28.25.. I have never shot an ilf bow so its all new to me. Any thoughts or...
Forgot to mention we would be archery hunting. Yes we have 4 mules we can pack or ride. Glossing for bears would be optimal i have some great optics that have been gathering dust on my last two Colorado hunts. Mostly do to the area we have been hunting.
Looking for suggestions on what state you guys would suggest for a backcountry bear hunt for my son and I? I have mules and a LQ horse trailer and all the gear needed. Looking at Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Utah is an option as well as New Mexico if NM has a spring season.
Damn, that sucks.. The bad news is city's have finally gotten so messed up that city dwelling people are making the move to places I have wanted to move to for years. When or if my time ever arrives where I can make the move, I'm afraid the last good places will be a mess already. I keep moving...
I have the 2 blade leather hood from Eagles flight archery for a longbow. So I can clean it, you make a good point if it were foam i could see dirt problems for sure.
I have put olive oil and rem oil in the arrow slots of my quiver so it sorta redcoats the heads . I use a 2 blade leather quiver from Eagles flight archery and the olive oil helps preserve the leather like I would use on a leather saddle. I'm sure putting a little oil inside a tight spot hood...
Cost on the setups will be pretty high per arrow but I don't own a boat, etc so this is what I spend $ on..
As far as durability these shafts appear to be a very solid shaft. The bow shop owner and I handled these an the black eagle Rampage and both agreed these were better quailty.. I decided...
I just picked up a dozen of the Victory R.I.P TKO shafts in .300 spine they are the same build as the grizzly stik shafts I have that victory builds but less gpi. I think these are going to be extremely strong shafts. I also am going to be using the 100 grain HIT inserts and 25g collars from...
I agree 100% it would of course be great to kill a bear but that is certainly not the only driving force for me. Heck i hunt with a longbow so their is a good chance i may not even get a shot. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if the hides are still ok at that point. Would hate to kill one...
