How many layers?

How many layers do you guys use when the temps start to drop or when you stop and glass? I've read that you should have a base, mid, insulation and then shell. I ask because there were a few times this year I was chilled. I'm curious: do I add more layers or stay with same number of layers...

Synthetic or Merino?

Merino from head to toe. Kuiu tops, ice breaker bottoms and boxers, smart wool socks. @ Luke; its funny you say that. My synthetics, which I used all summer to work out in, still stink. They've been aired out, washed, even hit with a dash of bleach. Buggers still have a little stench.

Rain gear

It's really hard to say for sure. I've been on hunts where I had 5 solid days of rain, almost 24 hrs a day. Then I've had hunts where it rained less than an hour on any given day and not at all on other days. I used Cabelas Mt050 for allot of years. It did it's job and I was pleased with...

Bow Poundage

Last season was the first in many that I didn't shoot more than 70 lbs. Thinking about an 80 lb insanity this year. Have to wait and see. There are a few things from Kifaru on my wish list as well.

What's on your feet this year?

I've been using the Asolo FSN 95 GTX for a number of years. They fit my feet really well. Only hunting boot I own.

Insoles

I started using Aetrex Lynco 400's. I used superfeet for years and decided to give these a try and won't go back. Haven't tried the Synergy, maybe when this pair is shot, I'll give them a try.

Kuiu, Sitka, First Lite, Core 4, Kryptek...what say you?

I purchased almost every piece KUIU offers last year. For the most part I like it and have no real complaints. Looking at First-Lite this year. Waiting to see what Jason does with his base layers. I like the thumbhole on First-Lite. That and they offer the heavy weight wool. Not sure if that...
