    Sitka kelvin...how is it

Mike I think it would fit what your asking it to do very well. You might also want to take a look at Kuiu's Spindrift jacket.

    Hardcore Treestander?

Larry, Just don't count on the seat or any bit of cloth or padding to be there the following year. ;)

    Hardcore Treestander?

I know where two stands are bout 6 miles back in. Now that they are there I don't think they are ever coming out. And for all you forest service fans.....no they are not on or in the tree right now.

    Why Kuiu?

it's quality gear with techno fabrics at a "makes sense" price.

    Magazine Ads

I'm so numb to banner adds. Take for example the 1st Lite on at the bottom of this page. I don't even notice it down there. I don't know if I've even clicked a banner add. Adds in mags I see particularly if it's an add for a new product. Example would be the new Crispi boot add I was looking...

The Ultimate Backcountry Pack for a 10 Day Alpine Hunt

Bags of dog food work well, so do big bulk bags of rice or pinto beans. Boned out meat.

The Ultimate Backcountry Pack for a 10 Day Alpine Hunt

I'm a fan of the frame sheet even on other packs. Some Gregory packs have a stay inside a simple frame sheet and it totally changes the feel. I think Kuiu was on the right track with the frame sheet and the carbon I just think the carbon is too much of a liability. The composite stays inside...

The Ultimate Backcountry Pack for a 10 Day Alpine Hunt

I'm not saying the Timberline series can't do what your talking about......currently I have two at my house. BUT. I did try on the duplex frame and to me there is a big difference in feel from the frame sheet and the two individual stays. Everyone is different but to me I liked the feel of...

    Pack size

Like whats sorta already been stated. What amount of space does your gear take up? A boned out buck is going to be around 65ish pounds of meat plus the head. In my opinion and experience that's a load it's self for me. My guess is that's going to pretty much fill your 4K bag your talking...

The Ultimate Backcountry Pack for a 10 Day Alpine Hunt

I love the way the EMR type frame sheet feels on my back, downside is obviously the weight. I also think the idea of some sort of multi sized hunting specific bags to go on and off a somewhat lighter frame sheet would be awesome idea.

    Stabilizer recommendation

I agree with Justin about Bstinger but not necessarily the 12" part. With you and your set up I would look more towards an 8"er with 4oz weight. I would also suggest you look at their new Sport Hunter Xtreme line. It comes in 6, 8 and 10" with 3 oz of weight.

    What rests are you using?

Hamskea Versa Rest. Doesn't matter if I like it limbdriven drop away (bottom or top) cable driven drop away, cable slide drop away or even in static blade mode. One rest can be configured any way your most comfortable with. Pretty amazing how precision this rest is yet I also feel like I...

    Long vs short vanes....forgiving?

I had good luck last year with ACC Pro's and will most likely use them again this year. Thinking bout the new hunting skinny's though. Only major downside would be there most likely isn't a bail at any of the ranges around that would stop them. I shoot low pounds compared to most of you...

    HEAD or BODY?!?!?!

Guess I'm still bucking the system and aiming for the body......mostly. Can't get past using those head shot type heads, sorta like I can't get past the whole TeePee shelter thing.....LOL. I've killed my fair share of turkeys......the kid-let's been going the last few years and I mostly let...
