Lawnboi, you're really gonna have to count calories if you want to consistanly gain without backing off your cardio. What hasn't been touched on is if you DO slow down on your cardio a few things will happen:
1. yeah, you're gonna gain weight.
2. your fitness level is going to decrease (counter...
100 miles......one person. I'd have to say HardRock and Leadville are the toughest Ultras in the U.S. Bighorn in WY isn't a joke either. There are some races in Texas, like Cactus Rose outside Bandera, that have a 100mile Relay (4person), but most are run by a single person.
Any of you guys in the trail running or Ultra scene?? Gonna be in CO around the end of June and beginning of July for the HR100 in Silverton....anybody else gonna be around??
you sound like me...haha i spent entirely too much money on packs over the last 4 years. After talking with Aron and hearing others high praise the Timberline is gonna be the route i go. I wouldn't mind trying a Tenzing out against it. I know the J107 is getting thrown in the free pile...
where about in North Texas are you??? you should check out North Texas Trail Runners....it's around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, good group of folks and it's always fun to find other people to run with and hit some trails around there instead of pounding pavement all the time (easier on the...
i don't care what it is. i'm there to kill an animal and enjoy the views. cow, spike, 5x it doesn't matter in my group. I think it's why we stick together. i know guys would get pissed hauling a cow out 4 or 5 miles, but we're all fine with it.
i'm a Eichler hunter to a T. I don't really worry about horns too much unless it's a pretty special draw tag. I'd rather just be out hunting and kill something to put in the freezer, if it's got some inches that's all the better but it's not gonna hurt my feelings if it doesn't.
The toughest hunt I've been on was the wolf/coyote hunt I just got back from. It was tough due to the extra funk I picked up before I even got out of Texas. The roughest time I've ever had, fluids coming out of both ends. We hunted fairly hard the first day in Idaho, I logged a whole 6 miles...

i'm same height but a little heavier. body fat is 8.7% right now, but i just caught a nice case of Giardia (restaurant food not water). So i'm down to 163lbs right now, i'm usually in the 170-180lb range. my usual week consists of about 55-80miles a week on trails depending if i'm training for a...
hahahaha......yeah, it has it's perks but it also came with a little over $240K in student loans. i have my doctorate, and was going to teach at a University in oregon but i figured why ruin a good thing when i'm my own boss, make enough money to cover our home expenses and can take off whenever...
