Evan and I just got our Ulmer Edge heads today! I'm anxious to give them a try. I have used Vortex, Meatseeker, Spitfire, Stricknine, and mostly Sidewinder 3 from Trophy Ridge (Rocket). All work well as long as you have the KE to push it through.
I currently run B Stinger stuff on all my bows, hunting and target. They are truly the best "aiming" stab on the market! I haven't used the new Extreme Sport Hunter yet, but I'm looking to have one on my Carbon Matrix this fall. They are selling like gang-busters in the Shop, can't hardly...

The Carnivore Pack is a bit small for an elk hunt. I would suggest building your own set with 2 medium quarter bags and 3 small quarter bags. Now you may have to bone an elk out rather than just quartering it to get the whole thing out. That would still be a compact set of bags for a back...
I've used them for several years now, and they are the best bag out there. They wash up better than any other bag, so you can get several years of use out of them. They are spendy, but well worth it if you enjoy eating what you harvest!
I usually quarter it, using the gutless method. The bone gives the load some structure, easier to drop in a pack. That's usually not further than 2-3 miles in.
@ trevore, you don't need a "back tension" release to shoot back tension. You can activate a trigger style release by using back tension. I shoot a TON of tournaments through-out the year. Indoor spots, outdoor spots, field, and 3D. I use a hinge style release for most of my tournaments...
