Catch and release for me, Sitka Jetstream lite, grey, size XL. Minor minor pilling under the left arm in the pit section. Fit is kind of athletic, I am 6'2, 213, normally wear a size L or LT... Length was good, just smaller in the chest area than I would like. It cuts the wind and stops...
Gen 1 Ruger American ranch chambered in 7.62x39, 16.1" threaded barrel. An illuminated vortex strike eagle ll 1-6x24 for the glass. One 5 round mag. It has 200 rounds through the tube over the course of 5 years. It's been a super accurate and fun gun for me. Minor wear marks. Looking to get...
Shot my moose at the end of November 22'. about 1230 and after phoning 4 friends to assist with packing, it was 1/4 and packed up by 1530. Dark at 1615 and to the truck at 1830.. majority of the moose I seen shot were in the morning before 11am. AK time.
Thank you very much. I can ask my mother more about it, but I was fairly young and don't remember much aside from what I posted. Granted they didn't give the kids the details aside from the big items.
I hate when the yotes do that stuff. They chased my dad to the truck one night after sprucing up the bait pile. They spouted off in the corn field and he could hear them getting closer. So he high tails it to the truck with them russeling the corn stocks not 20 yards away.

Not terribly creepy or weird but sumping what I have.
Camped in Yellowstone for 3 nights with the wife as 4 kids on a trip from WA back to the U.P. got into one of the camp areas, started filling out paperwork when the camp host comes around and start BSing a bit. He said to make sure you...
Here's another one that just popped into the noodle.. circa mid 2000s... an older cousin of mine had moved out to Colorado. He had been living out there for a few years. He was a hiker and a hunter. We had found out that he was missing with no trace.... No one knew anything about what...
After living in the U.P until I enlisted, I got stationed out in Spokane, where I took up bass fishing and bought a boat. I spent every opportunity I could on the water. In both Washington and Idaho. I always expected to find something disturbing at some point while out there because that's...
Alright, some free time available. Been a wood rat up in the U.P. my whole upbringing, hunting all the critters and fishing when ever I could. From the age 12 when I was in the deer stand alone to 15. Everytime I walked out of the swamp at night I feel like i somehow got into my head that...
2 weeks of on and off reading and I'm finally to the end. When I get a little more time, i've got at least two stories to tell. Maybe think of a few more in the process. Amazing thread and some of these really resonate and gave me goosies.
If you get the army issued one (the real heavy duty one) that's going to weigh significantly more. I've got one of each and I'll try to dig the army one out of the kids closet for comparison. The one im talking about folds up about the size of a t shirt. I don't want to steer you down...
I've been partial to my milsurp nylon rain poncho.. glassing shelter, meat tarp, additional ground sheet, and you can put it on over yourself and your pack for those mountain showers. It comes with on every hunt for 12oz or so I believe it is... I would also split the spotter and tripod...
For a cheaper bag, check out the klymit Aspen 20. pad, klymit static v insulated . Tent, there's a whole plethora of options but a mountain Smith Lt is bare bones and works wonders from what I've gathered. Compressed Sleeping bag size is a very big factor for me now. I have a 20° semi...
