I use https://www.toprut.com/ I have no idea how accurate they are but they have the info I need. I would like to hear if others think it is useful or what is better.
If misses are that big of a factor that is where I would start. Why are you missing? Over confidence in shooting ability, equipment issues, environmental factors, nerves? Get a shooting coach or go to a school. Do the majority of your practicing the way you hunt. Add some pressure to your...
Really??? Absolutely not. This type of incident only happens when people carelessly handle firearms. Follow basic safety rules and this will never happen.
I had that tag a few years ago. I probably saw about 50 does a day and 2-3 forkies a day. I guess I was not where all the big bucks hang out. I ended up shooting a forkie on the afternoon of the last day. It was my only tag that year and I needed to put something in the freezer.
I don't understand it but for some reason people feel good when they spend a stupid amount of money on a name brand item. It makes them feel more confident and capable knowing they have the most expensive widget. Very similar to a security blanket.
The last few years has shown the American consumer will pay insane prices for everything, $100,000 trucks, $5,000 rifles, $500 jackets, $500 arrows. Prices will not come down as long as people keep buying.

It depends on what you will be doing with them. Hunting, target, 3D. To get started look at amazon arrows. I am convinced the cheap off brand arrows come out of the same factories in China as the stupid expensive arrows. Iots of people feel better when using expensive items over cheaper...
Not exactly a hunting club but look up your local chapter of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. There is one in Durango. Meet a lot of people and work on some conservation projects.
I don't understand how anyone could not listen at this point. How else do you learn about the world around you and get different points of view. Whatever you are curious about there is a podcast, physics, astronomy, current events, history, politics, mysteries, hunting, knitting or whatever.
Look at everything this country has been through and become stronger. civil war, world wars, dust bowl, great depression, recessions, oil crisis, riots. We will be just fine.
I have tried it two years when I did not draw any other tags. First find the food then find sign then it is a waiting game. So far I have not been successful. Based on my limited experience bears are super hard to find in NM when looking for them.
