"Haven't cut his tracks coming out the downwind side. Had the upwind side covered. Working my way up to his bed to check for blood trail. If he's still up in that Quakie jungle, it will be very tough to get a shot in there." Robby

"He never came out of the acre sized Quakie patch he went into. I'm going to make a down-wind circle. Have tracking snow so I can check if he make it out without me seeing him." Robby Where my popcorn? This is getting intense.

"Spotted him as sunrise. Already bedded close to cover(20 yards) under a Utah Juniper. He's very big in the body and a "nice" rack-even and tall but not wide. Last day easy loader IF I can get a clean shot. I see his back forks on other side of Juniper, but that's all. No more cover between...

Three medium bucks. Time to pull out- it's a long way out and a long way home. Thank You Lord for a good hunt and thanks Roksliders for following along. Sorry I couldn't make it more exciting, but as I've said before: big deer hunting can be pretty boring at times... Robby

High Country Horseback Mule Deer Hunt

Good day for bucks, just not big ones. Saw a bachelor herd tonight of 8! That's a lot for October. Best one a tad bigger than this morning's but still in the 27" class. For reference, these bucks are just a tad smaller than the Colorado bucks on the muzzle loader hunt. Couldn't get the buck...
