Well, we’ve been married for 56 yrs so that’s actually a rhetorical question. Anywho, today I was scrolling the internet and saw a Henry Homesteader 9mm rifle that looked like it might be fun. Showed it to my wife, 20 minutes later I get a notice from my credit card on a charge I didn’t make...
OP, I can’t give you any advice on what to get but I will say that from your posts I’d say he has everything. That’s how I feel about my wife of 56 years, we’ve put up with each other’s foibles, and let me tell you I have a lot.
Congrats on a job well done.
In 10 round average it was 24fps muzzle. Muzzle velocity with LRPs 2950, with MagLRP 2974, impact difference @ 200yds was about 1/2”, basically overlapping, at 300 yds the groups were about 1 1/4”.
Keep in mind your rifle may respond differently than my Bergara with Hammer Hunter 124gr bullets.
Use whichever works better for your rifle, just make sure your brass is for small primers not large. The difference in MY rifle is minimal velocity and no difference in accuracy. All of my brass currently are all large rifle pocket mostly Hornady once fired. I do have some new Lapua small...
If I’m not using the throw always I just give them to my wife, getting them clean is above my pay grade, I get them back all clean, folded and in a ziplock bag ready for the next trip.
Had my daughters when in my 30s. I made sure they were included in all my hunting vacations and made sure we also had “kid” vacations, Disneyland, trips to places wanted to go. When they were older and did school activities, 4H etc I made time for those. I’ve done the same with my grandkids...
Htm84, I stand partially corrected, you can bring legs/shoulders and clean hide and skull cap in, I misinterpreted your statement to mean you could bring the whole animal.
Yes you do have to debone game before entering California. If and that’s a big if, you are checked and have bone in meat you get a citation and lose your meat.
I debone game from anywhere I hunt, it’s easier to transport.
Done that too if there’s too much snow or we are heading somewhere else after. And it’s definitely not A class motel where we go, more like a ‘50s era that’s still going. Not sure you’re older but likely not by much, but after 75 who’s counting. Just geterdone!
OK, I admit it, my idea of roughing it is boondocking in my 40’ diesel pusher. Done all the rest from sleeping under the stars in a bag on the ground and everything in between. At my age I’m getting more interested in being comfortable thank you very much.
PTSD, thanks to my time in Viet Nam and the Army and the anti war crowd who did nothing but insult and/or ignore us when we came back. Depression and anxiety are part and parcel of that package. Took 25 years of misery and making those around me suffer before I came to grips with it and got...
Still have about 18 Rocky Mtn Razor 125s and a few vials of extra blades that I still hunt with. Hopefully they’ll last me until I’m too old and stove up to pull my bow.
Not a NV resident but from what I’ve heard big game is a crap shoot getting drawn, birds and small game is available if you know where to look. As for organized shooting, it’s there with a very nice range on the north side and numerous indoor shooting locations too.
