My thoughts too! IF I'm not finding them/sign in 4/5 days I'm moving spots. Sounds like some great trail riding, but if I want to kill an elk I'm glassing, still hunting timber, or tracking if there is snow.
I agree, but showing specific areas to hunt by river boat doesn't help. Hopefully some management changes are in the works in the next few years to limit both residents and nonresidents from hunting deer in the rut and let the herds rebuild
I hunted over out of Glascow near Ft. PECK last year and deer sighting were very few, even less whitetail. There was probably 500-700 hunters based out of Glasgow. I never seen anything like it.
Others have said the east district 652 is a limited permit and also areas west of there in Region 4...
Gotcha, makes sense.
One thing we have used to help with loading horses into a trailer is a flag with one person off to the side and put a little pressure on them and once they put one foot into the trailer back them out, and repeat until we get the other foor, and back them out. Keep...
Slapping a horse in the face doesn't do him any good except making him head sly. I would seriously go hunting on foot and do some horse training at home, such as trailer loading, crossing obstacles, ground driving, etc. You have way more balls than I do or way over confident. Seems like just...
Great information, I've hunted Oklahoma quite a bit and those days are my favorite time to hunt. Like others have said stay all day the deer will be very active 24/7. I've been trying for a Wichita Mtn rifle tag but will likely apply for McAAP next year. It's some pretty country too. Best of luck.
It appears you could draw a general tag with four points. If you want to hunt an area with no grizzlies and lots of elk take a look at the southern region near Colorado. The western region has grizzlies and closer to Yellowstone obviously has higher numbers. Most of it fairly high elevation also...
Rode into a nearby wilderness area that has one bridge, creeks, steep incline, heavy brush, and didn't run across any bears. With the abundance of thimble berries and huckleberry I'm thankful I decided to bring my hound.
I would check into insulated concrete forms for your frost walls and exterior walls. We built our house with Logix blocks and have been very pleased. They are huge on energy saving, seismic proof, fire proof, bullet proof and fairly easy to install and pour with the correct bracing and...
