Forsure. I have 2 of the 2400 abs’s and have ran them hard in lots of snow and cold weather with zero issues. Maybe upgrading isn’t worth it for either. Woulda expected better from both. Look forward to more testing from ya.
Why the revic doesn’t auto dim is the one feature that was a complete flop. You shouldn’t have to change the brightness throughout the day on your own… not on a 1300 dollar piece of equipment In 2022. Other then that it appears to be well thought out.
That is the plan. I’m hoping they are just over thinking it concerns and one that won’t actually be an issue. I also agree with it being an issue with size/snagging. I think it would have to be made into a shape/size that some how closes itself off to the butt stock in order to prevent it from...
While i sit here anxiously waiting for my 1st true chassis (4.0 mag) I ordered during Black Friday I can’t help but focus on my biggest concern I’ve always had. As I guess what you could consider a long range guy and mainly magnums, in fact this will be a mild 338 wildcat build going in it. I am...
Really can’t go wrong with either. I know we’ve talked. I’ve ran a bunch of the mrk5’s hard. I’ve got 2 new builds in the works. They will either wear a couple more 5-25 or a couple nx8 4-32’s. I think I’m going to try the nx8’s. Only because the last 6 I’ve bought have been the leupy’s and I...
If you can swing cabinets, that’s my vote. The. Either use laminate tops or even high end plywood. Here’s mine. I got cabinets for free from someone doing a kitchen remodel on a rental house. Then made my own tops from plywood since my layout was different. Then sealed it with lots of...
One more complaint… how come a scope of that caliber/price can’t come with better scope caps and cover. Atleast give me tenebraex caps and a scope coat xp6 cover like a lot do. Even trijicon does exactly that. The vortex defender caps have to be the worst caps on earth. Atleast to me. I’m still...
Awesome. Look forward to it. I’m not a fanboy either and maybe leaves me a little extra critical. I had a razor line scope fail and cost me a bull years ago. Swore off vortex at the time. I’ve come around a little since then l… I did put a new lht on a super light weight kimber. Anyways, look...
The Norma is a sweet round imho and the improved even better. I’m kinda planning a 338 norma improved as well. Will be a a year or 2 out. But this way you can use the same dies for the most part. I like the Norma case as it’s short and can still be a repeater with the longer bullets. I...
Vortex and $3k in the same sentence… I’m not quite sure about that. Anyways, seems to be a well thought out scope. Lots of nice features. For a comp type rifle it would be nice. Glad they’ve cut some oz’s. I do feel they are starting to out price themselves with this one. Guess they will see...
I feel ya. I was down to like 30. I have too many rifles that shoot them. Parts are trickling in for both new builds. One will be a 300 norma improved and the other a mild 338 wildcat to shoot the lighter 250 bergers or maybe try some cutting edge lazers. I haven’t completely decided on scopes...
RedHawk hands down. Many don’t realize that they are a small hands on company. I’ve literally been emailing them back and fourth on the weekends about products. I honestly think it may have been on a cel phone with and owner, manager etc. They went to the shop and measured/weighed barrels for...
Maybe I’m way off on what I’m about to say… but I feel like it’s not just a knob issue but how/where/angle the knob is attached to the bolt. I had heard/witnessed it being an issue but wasn’t sure how many were actually having it is why I posted. Before I make up my mind I was curious. For me...
I’ve already done it once or twice with these 2 builds. I went with a heavier carbon barrel… and chassis and stocks. And may with scopes as well. These will both be 30 caps shooting heavies and possibly a 3rd in a 338 of sorts that’s being tested. Time will tell on the 3rd. My original goal was...
I’ve just never been a chassis guy really, especially on a hunting rifle. I’ve got 4 AG’s. 2 manners, a McMillan and some others. I decided to try the xlr for a folder. I hope I like it. I will skim bed it. Ordering from xlr for the inlet is easy. My fear is if I don’t really love it I can’t...
I’ve looked at the kratos - same thing as I need a LA but for me the screwed/pinned rail is a deal breaker. I want a fixed/machined one. I have had a rail loosen up. It’s no good. All my rails are jb welded to the action now but going forward I will be buying integral ones. Otherwise nice...
