I can't remember off hand where I saw it now. Might have been on the Nosler forum. The big rounds based off the 378 rounds are made by someone else probably Norma still.
@Petersen Cartridge Co can you confirm anything about this?
Nice read, makes a lot of sense on what you need on your end to bring products to the market.
Nice that you are able to work with Weatherby to supply them and also handloaders. Having a good source of premium brass in North America is a big plus for everyone.
We won't get them here in Canada until next spring. Hope you guys let us know how it's working for you. Heard lots of good things about ADG so this is excellent for the round and those who were waiting for good brass before buying a 6.8 Western rifle.
I didn't even see the calf in the picture, very nice!
Thanks for the info on the JC barrel, sure is nice to have more Canadian options these days. The 284 is such a good fit for a Tikka action, much better than the 280 or AI version.
The eye relief specs are what made me question the Huron...
Congratulations on the moose, some of the best meat out there. How are you liking the Huron and the JC barrel? I considered the JC barrel for my 6.8 Western but ended up with a KS arms barrel made in Edmonton. It shoots well by the way.
Hornady took a blasting because they failed to tell everyone that they were getting 150-200 fps less with the new powders they had to use but still claimed 3000 fps. If they would have been honest there wouldn't have been a big issue. With 26" barrels the speeds were around 2880 fps on average...
When you first posted up this thread I mentioned the 160 gr TTSX and still think it's a great option but there are lots of other bullets you can try, even from some of the European manufacturers. What do you think you'll try first and do you have a line on brass? Corlanes builds a bunch of them...
I saw a BLR for $900 a couple of years ago but couldn't swing it. Wish I could have bought it at the time. One day it will all line up or maybe I'll find my old left hand A Bolt again.
