I’ve found whenever my bow is in a case like a bow sling etc. that puts any pressure on the string, D loop and peep, my bow takes a few shots before it hits where it should or was hitting. I think things that move so much just need to settle in a bit after something puts pressure on them for a bit.
My friend and I drew a decent moose tag here in beautiful BC for the second half of October. Fortunately he is much more knowledgeable than I am but are there any good moose hunting resources like elk 101 out there I can study up on?
This man speaks the truth.
I had to replace my strings this week and was at the range tuning today. I did a little bare shaft tuning and had it good to 30 after a bit of adjustment. I was shaving field points and putting nicks in the back side of my broad head blades out to 40 on my nock tuned...
That's cool.
But, you're still saying nock tuning does some good. Even if the manufacturing process you witnessed with your own eyes (who else's eyes would you have witnessed them with?) is as perfect as you say, there's too many variables for everything to be perfect.
I cut both ends...
I have the Nock 2 it. I like the 2 finger style over the 3 or 4. I actually lengthened my DL by a half inch going to it from a trigger because the jaw is so much further back at full draw.
I disagree with this based on my own experience. I shoot the 5mm Axis arrows. The last 24 I built were half match grade and half 0.003". Before I fletch them, I nock tune every one to get the best tear possible. There wasn't much difference between the two grades in terms of how many needed to...
Your 2 year old daughter is more important than your career.
I've had similar thoughts and I also work in an industry I could easily take a touring job that pays a lot more, but at the end of the day, your kids are more important.
There are many places you could do things that serve your...
Thanks for the advice. The trip is getting closer. Any good bow shops in the area? I might have a new string on by then and need to make some tweaks to tuning.
Don't bring anything you can open with one hand and put it in your suitcase.
Regarding the gun questions, I get strange questions crossing into the USA as well. They are all just shooting questions out there to see how you react, what the questions are doesn't matter much, they are trying to...
I'm pretty sure ATA isn't as important as string angle. Some bows have big cams and some have small ones. A 32" ATA with big cams might have a flatter string angle than a 34" ATA with small cams. I wish bows were advertised as "X" string angle at 30 DL, then I would know what bow's string would...
I've asked about it coming back into Canada in case I ever buy a used bow in the USA. They don't have any issues with archery gear.
Regarding the knives, CBSA are being a bunch of D-bags and making up their own rules. Fixed blades are fine with them but they seem to think any folder you can...
