After stewing on this overnight, I’m liking it more and more. Do you have any input on a pair of 15 or 18 binos in the price range of the spotter? (3-400)? This might be the way I go. I’m not trying to pick out a 180vs170 class mule deer. I’m trying to tell buck or doe, or dink or decent, before...
My dad experienced this a few years back, actually in regular muzzleloader. Deer here just drop antlers much earlier it seems. He shot a nice 10 point, when he walked up, one side was gone! Confused, he grabbed the remaining side to lift it up, and it popped off in his hand.
Heck of a set of...
Thanks. I’d rather send it back than it collect dust. And no point in carrying around 3lb in a pack that isn’t doing you a service.

Yeah they were running a pretty sweet sale. Still are I think, and it’s on all the vortex spotters. Just most of them are more than I can justify for one trip a year.

Thanks everyone for the advice so far! I especially like the idea of a heavier set of Binos. Less room in my pack, easier on the eyes.

Some of you all may have seen the sweet deal blackovis was running on vortex spotters. Buy a spotter, get a carbon tripod.
I had a new spotter on my Christmas list. Currently, I own a Celestron Ultima 80. It’s huge, it’s heavy, and it’s.. mediocre. But it was my first spotter and what I could...
It hasn’t failed. It seems more and more bad stories are coming out of vortex with needing to cash in on the warranty. Don’t get me wrong, I have their Binos and range finder and like them, but when it comes down to it, the last thing I want giving out on me is a scope. My theory is a rifle...
That’s a good tip. I’ve knocked myself with it a couple times shooting at the range. 06 recoil isn’t bad until you make it that light, and then it can get a bit squirrelly.
I’d love to get comfortable at longer distances! Just hard in my area to find anywhere to shoot them shamefully. I...
Yeah like I said I’m not very experienced in them. Especially higher end stuff. As far as mounting, there’s only one option that I’m aware of for the rifle as they’re custom. It has a higher rear mount than front. Quite odd in my opinion but it works.
Hello all, I am the proud “owner” (actually my father in laws but he doesn’t hunt) ULA rifle chambered in .30-06. When I first started using it I was tight on money so it has a vortex diamondback on it right now.
I feel dirty every time I use it knowing I have such a high end rifle with entry...
I’m just here to show off my ULA. Turns out my wife’s grandma was Melvin’s secretary back in the day and had one made for her husband. No one in the family hunted, so it just sat in the gun case. Along comes me, and I talk my father in law into letting me take it to Montana, and I’m yet to...
