Sportdog or Garmin work great. Make sure it's snug and placed appropriately. I've used both off and on for years. Dogs wise up to them pretty quick. Anymore all I have to do is show it to them and they'll quiet down. Funny thing is they can differentiate between the ecollar = "Fun" and bark...
I bought a lower model Deuter kid Venture from REI when my son was about 8mo old. He absolutely loved it and still does. Very secure and was comfortable when he was younger. He's now 2 1/2 and the pack isn't quite as comfortable for me. I recently just rigged it up to my SG krux frame and it...
I have the same gun but the long version in 25cal. With a DonnyFL Sumo moderator and it tuned down, your neighbor probably would only hear the impact on the squirrel if that. At full power the impact is definitely louder than the report. Amazingly quiet air rifle.
Instinct. Been running it for the past 3seasons with my Alpha 100. Super convenient not having to pull the transmitter out of the pouch. I wear the instinct all day everyday and have had zero issues besides band replacements.
Any airgunners in SW Idaho? I have a few pcps and primarily hunt small game with them and some plinking. Whistle pig season is coming up and was looking to see if anyone would like to head out together this spring.
If you haven't already found this during your research, for strength alternate the orientation of your plies. I.e 45,90,45,90, etc depending on how many plies you use. Off to a great start. Pm me if you have any questions about CF layup, was a CF technician for about 8yrs, however I wasn't...
I killed a bull this year with the 6.8 western and the 175gr game kings at 256yds. Bullet performed great, bull took a few steps then fell over. They shoot extremely well out of my xbolt.
I also purchased an extension after reading about the heaters on line. The smell was extremely strong and the duct seemed to get hotter than I was comfortable with. I haven't had a need for it yet.
I purchased an Hcalory suitcase style diesel heater to try in my kodiak canvas 10x10 this season. Works really well with "dry" heat being the biggest plus. I set it up outside and pipe the warm air duct through the "back door". Seems to be very fuel efficient and seems to burn a little cleaner...
I purchased a MR pop up 40 this year and was fortunate enough to kill a bull. I like the simplicity of the pack and it seemed to handle the weight of the quarters pretty well and I know i had it overloaded at one point. I found it had plenty of room for day hunts and cleaned up well.
I have a few pcps that I use for plinking and small game. The first two i bought years ago are more of a traditional style rifle. An AA S200 bolt action in 22cal. Shoots about 20ft/lbs but is extremely accurate. Great kid size gun. The other is an AA S510 in 25cal. Side lever magazine fed...
For me, 2 dogs is a minimum. As others have mentioned it takes time and money to get out to the places we like to hunt so in order to maximize it you need more than one. I had 4 at one time of varying ages. I think the best advice would be to have 2yrs between them. As the 2yr old is getting it...
I managed a good gunbroker buy earlier this spring on an xbolt mountain pro in 6.8 western. With the recoil hawg brake on it the recoil is extremely mild. The gun is a tack driver for sure with the 175gr tgk, the only round ive fired through it. Shot a decent bull at 258yds this fall with it and...
I ran the claw for years, worked really well. Setup a new rifle this year and gave the FHF rifle sling a try. Sling is nice and the ability to attach it to the side of your pack for hands free hiking with still quick deployment was nice. A little bit of setup with it but seems very secure...
I purchased an xbolt in 6.8 earlier this year as my "Do-All" rifle.I cannot say enough good things about it. Gun is amazingly accurate with factory 175gr BLR . 1/4MOA at 100yds. Low recoil, veey fun shoot. Just killed a bull last week at 258yds, the 6.8 did not disappoint. I think you'll be...
