    Packing with llamas

You really can't stress this enough with smaller pack animals. With a horse/mule you have slightly more conditioning leeway just because of their sheer size, but the smaller you get, the more the conditioning becomes a important factor. Also all the desentizatation and trust that is built during...

    Horse Hunting Solo

I'll throw in the plug for burros too. Extremely affordable, safe, and easy keepers. Really cool history and hertiage with them in the west as well. Feels like your continuing on a tradition of the blue collar miners and explorers that prospected, hunted, and traveled all over. If your a former...

Heck yeah! They look like they're built for packing.

    Wild Mustang

I'll steal this thread and say a BLM/TIP burro is one of the best I've had. Once he graduated the TIP program in April I had him on his first backcountry trip in 60 days in July. Then he did two weeks packing on a elk hunt about a month later in September. Lots of work but he's turning into my...

    Building a Decker Pack Saddle

I recently got the "I want to try it myself bug" and decided I would like to build a modifed decker tree for a burro/donkey this winter. There is suprisingly little info on this on the interwebs. Has anyone here done this themselves? I found the modified pack arch online so I won't need to...

    What Hunting Videos Interest You?

Excellent thread. I just recently started my own channel and I'm looking at filming my first hunt/daily journal on our september hunt. I'm currently using filmora for editing and that is working well. Besides drone shots, are their any other shots or filming styles that people think are...

    Donkey Packing

Depends on the situation and animals. With my new BLM burro, I don't trust him yet. So they are in the electric fence at night, but when I leave camp they go on the highline. In the evenings or morning they are hobbled or in the electric fence. to eat. Also depends on the weather and where...

    Donkey Packing

Depending on the cooler brand that could work out okay. If they are too cheap the straps/buckles could wear or be broken if they bump a tree. Also watch so that the edge of the cooler doen't start to dig into the donk.

    Donkey Packing

I'm working on getting some more videos up on a burro I'm training for the backcountry this year. Got one from the BLM TIP program this spring and I'll use him on a OTC elk hunt this fall. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmTwzqcsfc5uLL8Q6wjxDWQ
