I’m in New Mexico, so still the west, but much drier than Washington. I’ve seen both black and brown bears on my trail cameras, but maybe that book is close enough to get me started.
I’m considering a DIY bear hunt for this fall. Does anyone have a favorite book on bear and/or cougar hunting? They are some of the few OTC hunts in my state and I’ve heard the meat is tasty.
I have the same gun, also about 20 years old. The guy at the sporting goods store saw me hand my lawn-mowing money to my dad (I was under age at the time) and gave me 10 bucks off. Not fancy but it still works.
I’ll out in another vote for this one. I will say though that it worked itself out of adjustment over time so may need a daily re-adjust to remain comfortable.
