Washington is gorgeous and has lots of its own types of outdoor opportunities. Not the same as Alaska, but plenty to do if you look. Of the three places you listed I don’t think there’s a bad choice. I am with you though; how many times do you get to try Alaska?
That all makes sense and sounds very doable. Could you post a few more pictures from a couple different angles, without the side accessories and the binos removed?
I know this is old, but I am thinking of something similar and I’d like to know how you feel about it a couple years in, and can you give any more details about your process and what pattern you cut out?
Not sure if it’s mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but the book “convict conditioning” has some good exercise progressions for lifting heavy without heavy lifting.
I’m not sure really. I eat a protein breakfast of eggs and turkey, then I try to make my snacks things like nuts or meat and cheese during the day. I eat leftovers for lunch and whatever my wife cooks for dinner, but I try to emphasize protein where I can, especially if I am cooking, but veggies...
I am 5’ 10” and at the end of last year was 158-160. Consistency and calorie intake were real keys for me. I started drinking whole milk at mealtimes to stuff in the extra calories and that’s helped a lot.
Last year I worked really hard on Mike Prevost’s rucking program. I lost five pounds and felt great. My hunt was far better, with noticeably higher endurance, less fatigue, almost no muscle cramps, and no injuries. It was night and day over the previous year. So far this year I’ve gained 10...
Just an idea: have a forum section where links to the most active threads can be found. In general I like the way the forum is organized, but it could be fun to have one place where I can find all the most active threads on the site.

Is this a good sale or should I wait for an open box?
I also have a mule deer hunt in NM, and for what it’s worth I’ve settled on adding stabilization (a mount that uses my trekking pole), and if I can save the pennies I’ll get a decent set of 8x32s, because MOST of what I do is in timber, and I want to upgrade my primary glass first.
I am still trying to figure it out myself. I do have trouble sitting still. And I already carry poles anyway, so it seemed like the most economic way to improve my setup in a way that will scale.
That’s what I’ve been thinking. I’ll need an adaptor at some point; why not start with one that lets me try just the pole, and I can move up from there.
