I am usually a 32 in jeans. I got the medium long pants and I think they work well over top my jeans and belt I was wearing at the time. They were not super tight but not super loose in the waist either. I could see if I was gonna hike in them I maybe would want to sew in some type of draw...
Hey guys I looked all over and lots of people like the m65 pant liners but I could not find how packable they are. Mine just came in and they are medium Long size. They fit into a stuff sac about 6”x8”. Probably could get a little smaller if you had compression straps. I would say they are...
Like I have said it’s way better. I have kinda figured it out. Plus I quit shooting for the time being the steel butt plate mosin. Last weekend virtually no pain. Got a new recoil pad so that should help too.
My current rings and stock location for me to get the butt low off my collar bone I feel I have to bend my neck down at a weird angle past comfortable. I feel higher rings and higher cheek rest would help keep the butt down and keep my cheek and neck comfortable.
If the pre fit one does not...
Thanks guys a ton for all the info. I went and shot today and it was way better. I was comfy shooting about 40 rounds today. Just a slight manageable bit of soreness.
What I did was get the butt about a half an inch lower on my shoulder. It made a world of a difference. I have a LimbSaver pad...
Thanks for that. Yeah I went on and bought a new LimbSaver prefit pad. Well see if it actually fits. Maybe it will be close enough. For 35 bucks I’ll give it a try
Thanks for those recommendations. I’ll give prone a try. I did notice two times ago it was cold and I had a decent size coat on and it was a lot better than last time in a regular hoodie. Yeah when it gets up in the collar bone area it starts really getting uncomfortable. I honestly thing I took...
Yeah I need to play with my positioning a bit maybe. I’m getting pain only up high so maybe try to keep the gun off that spot. Also look into a new pad. The one I have now might as we be plastic. You can’t squish it at all. And really trying to keep the gun tight helps. In the spring when I go...
Thanks for the recommendation. I do work out 3-4 times a week. I’m gonna play with butt placement on the shoulder tomorrow. I was trying to last time but it was halfway through and already really sore so it hurt kinda no matter what. I may look into a new pad also. Not sure if I could get a pre...
I looked into the LimbSaver pads and would like one but sounds like all the pre fit ones don’t actually fit and I really did not wanna pay a gunsmith to put a grind to fit one on. Would rather just buy a new stock at some point but don’t quite have the cash currently.
I do not have a shoulder...
I get that. But you see people all the time shooting old wwii rifles from a bench with steel butt plates with seemingly no issue. I feel like it’s placement and technique issue. I feel like a new pad would be just a band aid on the issue.
Hi guys I know this is not exactly long range hunting but I felt it may be the best place to post. I just recently joined a rifle club and have been shooting most weekends. When I go I shoot some paper at 100 and then go shoot the steel gong range at 3-500 meters. I shoot about 50 rounds and...
I found the arch really weird. It hurt my foot bad. Like the mid section was too narrow. Then I put in some superfeet and the plastic cancels out the boots arch. Now I love them.
Hi guys was wondering if anybody wanted to hunt plains whitetail with me around units 133,134,135. Looks like you can get leftover archery tags for November and December. I thought it would be fun but I need a partner. Also looking for any tips or info if anybody would like to share.
Thanks.
