Looking for some recommendations on a self guided boat based black bear hunt in southeast AK
Have 4-6 guys wanting to have fun and catch fish/drink beer and shoot some big bears
I have a 6 Creedmoor on an anti x with a Brux sitting in an XLR Element 4.0
It is such a great little round. Easy to load and fun to shoot.
I went with a shorter freebore, something like 170 but I can't remember
Shooting the Berger 109
Some of the worst slob hunters are horse hunters
Riding through everything just like atv's
At least legal atv use is on a road or 2 track
Horses can go anywhere
And I use horses as well as atv
I love hunting with a wheeler. Just gotta get off the roads a bit. Nobody walks
I just spent 6 days in some of the best looking deer country a guy could think of in unit 36a
Didn't see a single deer!
Packed in around 7 miles and hit it hard the whole time
Nothing
Seen over 500 elk though
I got the adventure I was looking for and didn't see a single person the entire time...
Start light like everyone has said and shoot as much as possible
I have missed lots of shots as well!
One was a nice chocolate bear in Idaho that walked a mile or so right to me and gave me a perfect 20 yard shot
Watched the arrow sail in there for a perfect hit then drop like a rock right under...
