Light vs Heavy Arrow real life trajectory experiment

I’ve killed more animals with a 450-500 grain arrow outta a 47-50lb longbow at my 25.5 inch draw then most guys even compared to a compound. I’ve yet to find a reason to shoot more then 10 gpp for a stick, compounds even less, like 6-8 gpp is fine. Every year I go lighter and lighter with the...

New career, getting out of law enforcement

I started in the federal prison system and moved on to another 3 letter agency that was just as bad if not worse. Was eye opening after serving in the Marine Corps to see how the civilian federal law enforcement side ran. My mental health is 10xs better after leaving. Law enforcement today isn’t...

New career, getting out of law enforcement

Leaving federal law enforcement was life saving for me. I couldn’t deal with the woke politics and thugs having more rights then officers. I went back to turning wrenches, and my mind and body are much happier.

Tell me why I shouldn't move to wyoming...

Grand parents live north of Cheyenne. Fun to visit and hunt, couldn’t pay me to live there year round. Winters are terrible, snows like 8-9 months a year. I love the heat and humidity in the south compared to super long winters.

    New truck?

Delete it and don’t look back. I know of tons of deleted 6.7s and they run extremely well once the emmison bs is taken care of. If you’re dead set on leaving it on contact calibrated power for emissions on tuning. Really wakes the trucks up compared to stock.

I can’t remember, 08-17? They all come with like a 7-10 extra warranty now through Volkswagen as well. Killer deals out there

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

He builds pools for a living. Fuel filters changed every oil change at 5k. Maintained to the gills. Cp4 are just garbage and can’t take the us diesel with low sulfur. They are running in Europe just fine, but once again its due to their diesel having wayyy more lubricity. What’s crazy is even...

Need a new truck, what’s good?

Thanks, bought this a few months ago. One owner, 102k on it. The color has really grown on me, hides dirt extremely well. Have every service record since 06. Clean 3rd gen’s are getting harder and harder to find. I sold my 07 5.9, g56 truck a coupe years ago during Covid when prices where crazy...

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

I did an entire fuel system on a f450 that had 61k on it. Was 1k outta the warranty period. Cp4 injection pump grenaded and took out everything. Fuel rail, injectors, lines, etc. Ford quoted him 23k to replace everything. Cost of new stuff is just plain crazy.

Need a new truck, what’s good?

Sold my 23 f150 and went back to a 3rd gen Cummins. Did minor upgrades. Apple car play, full leather interior, tonneau cover. Seat motor was broke when I bought it. 78 bucks and 30 mins later it’s good as new. I would rather have a payed off truck that I can work on and maintain compared to the...

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

I work on a ton of modern gas and diesel and they are both terrible compared to the older stuff. The diesels are choked with emmisons and the newer gas stuff is plagued with sensor and electrical issues, normally on the turbo engines. It’s not uncommon to see lifters, valves, and cam phasers all...

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

I work on trucks weekly that have 500k plus on them with original long blocks still in them. Can’t say the say for gas engines. Modern stuff is garbage compared to pre emissions engines.

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

Depends on gas vs diesel as well. 250-300k is nothing engine wise for a maintained diesel where most gas engines will need a rebuild by then. The truck is another question with that many miles on the drivetrain and everything else.

Have you moved out of state?

I love running in the heat. When bow season opens in sept and it’s in 90s makes hiking around feel cool. Summers are brutal but a pool makes it tolerable. I will glaldy take the heat over any snow and temps below 40-50 degrees for lows.

Newer Truck vs. Low Mileage Old Truck

All I drive is older 5.9s and the wife loves her 4Runners. The 5.9 and 4.0 are both dinosaurs and super reliable.
