Hard to beat the cost of the Cascade carbon fiber poles but I've used the Black Diamond Whippet carbon ski pole for 5 years of elk, deer and mt. goat hunting and they have taken a beating with no breaks. The Whippet has a small "pick" on the handle kinda like a mountaineer axe in case you need...
I'd like to know more about wind and snow ratings/guidelines/recommendations for their shelters and tents....particularly the LBO tarp vs SO tipis? I've seen some pretty impressive youtube videos of shelters in wind but want to hear what there recommendation/feedback would be. Also generally...
Any past repairs, needed repairs, missing buckles or existing damage with the shelter? What shape is the stove jack in....any fraying/melting from past use?
Thanks!
Same here, used a neoprene shell holder but used foam sleeping pad strips to build up to the right height. Its light and does not absorb water and its cheap.

I've been saving up my preference points for 16 years and I'm not getting any younger so thought this might be the year to apply to hunt instead of just getting a point. I'm thinking about unit 61 but are there draw units with equal or better bulls? Or should I just hold on and try for other...
