    Backpacking air pump(s)

I get what you’re saying, but I am really having trouble seeing much of a weight penalty vs a normal pump sack..... maybe you aren’t carrying a pump sack either, but in that case, I commend you you! Also wondering what options you’ve found for ultralight tampons? LOL FYI I’m just messing...

    Backpacking air pump(s)

I definitely have been in the hills with people who I think might have cut some weight by not bringing a pair of balls. :ROFLMAO:

    Backpacking air pump(s)

I’m kind of growing to like that idea better than the flextail, especially depending on the noise factor. Nice thing is I’d technically be losing some weight, vs gaining it. Again, we are only talking an ounce or two either way but... “ounces make pounds” lol

    Backpacking air pump(s)

Thanks for pointing out some things to test for when I get it. I know there are certain implications to be had with ALL electric gizmos, and realize that Amazon retailers don’t always advertise reality. I should be clear, and let it be known to any roksliders following the thread that I will be...

    Backpacking air pump(s)

That’s what I’ve been doing, was thinking the pump might simplify that process a bit, allowing me the ability to finish setting other parts of camp up while the pump fills the air pad for me. It’s only a couple minutes, but I figured since the weight was about the same, it would be slick. If...

    Backpacking air pump(s)

This noise thing has me kind of worried... I definitely try to keep a quiet camp. I wonder if I could figure out a way to use my puffy or something to build a little tent around it to muffle the sound without cutting off airflow. I think I’m gonna buy it and see what I can figure out. I’ve...

    Backpacking air pump(s)

How loud we talking? Which size do you have? there is a few different sizes (all under 6 oz), wondering if that has an impact on noise? Can anyone else weigh in on noise?

    Backpacking air pump(s)

That is a great idea!! Will be nice to have one in the tipi. I don’t know what there is to dislike, if it functions as advertised. I will have to weigh my pump sack, and I realize some folks don’t carry one, but I doubt it is much more than 1-2oz penalty for me. To me the little bit of time...

    Backpacking air pump(s)

That’s three votes for flextail gear. Looks like mostly positive reviews on Amazon. I think I’m gonna try it out, I will try to remember to circle back after I use it for a season and leave a report!

    Backpacking air pump(s)

I got an ad on Instagram a while back for an ultralight, rechargeable air pump for backpacking air mattresses. I would like to look into ordering one from them or something similar, but I truly don’t remember the brand. It was extremely small, white cylindrical air pump with exchangeable tips...

    Boise Seamster or Seamstress needed!

Can you point me towards a better one?? I’m assuming this is the thread that gets the most interaction with guys and gals that know how to sew......

    Boise Seamster or Seamstress needed!

This doesn’t qualify as “DIY”, but I am looking for someone in the Greater Boise area to sew a few extra guy-out points onto my seek outside cimarron. I have already contacted Outdoor Gear Medics, they said they can do it, but the best they can do is a 2 week turn around. As many of us have...

    Forgot bugle tube MCCall Idaho

Anyone know where I can buy or find a bugle tube or wiffle ball bat in or near MCCall ID, can’t find a tube or a bat and not looking forward to hunting the next few days without one. Open to suggestions for makeshift options, gonna just go bugle-less until I figure it out, which is fine but....

    Tarptent opinions

I have a tarp tent rainbow, I have nothing bad to say, although I haven’t faced in any super high winds yet, it has held up great in moderate thunderstorms. For the snow free portions of the year, it has been excellent. When the snow hits I would want something with a little heavier materials...
