    I'm running a sky 5100 and it's plenty for day hunts. It doesn't get short on room until there's several days worth of food in it, but I can still manage. You could always grab one of their dry bags and haul camp in using the load shelf as well.

    It just depends what OS you like and are used to. People generally struggle making the switch one way or the other. I will say - and people will get hurt feelings - but Apple tech/features are generally about 5 years behind.

    A good puffy jacket in your pack. Weather in the mountains changes crazy fast compared to what we are used to. Physical conditioning should basically be #1 on your list. Do not wait until a month before you go to start getting in shape.

    I really dislike that stupid locking knob as well. You'd have to grind the locking pin and the knob itself to clear the handle.

    Try finding a Bushnell LRTS/HS in the 3-12x. I think the glass in it is good and it's never lost zero for me...it's taken some big hits.     I've noticed same thing with heavy loads that I'll get a hot spot on the top/front of my hips. I think the new belt is probably the way to go. I'm probably going to try the bladetech molle loks on one of their attachments for a holster solution. I hate chest rigs.
