What if 50% of the spikes that are killed by the road would have died anyway, and when someone shoots a spike from the side of the road, they are done hunting which reduces hunter pressure?
It's better for future buck recruitment for hunters to shoot 100 spikes (50 buck impact on the following...
Love these updates! I've hopefully got a hunt with my brother in some of those blue areas on the map next fall, and it gets me excited to know the snow's falling up high, but they can still get groceries down low.
Now that I've got the RS.1.2, I'm figuring to see if anyone would like this lightweight scope to put on their rifle.
It's got the SHR reticle and is their second focal plane scope. Check it out new here >>
It served me quite well putting critters down from 50 to 400 yards (well 395 but close...
We did some steep high-country stuff in the alpine for bighorn sheep, deer, and black bear last year. I never wanted or wish I had a smaller footprint.
I mean, your last point is the point of the regional system, yep. Because they were increasing Limited Quota tags and that was pulling from the General pool, though there are increasing numbers of elk, especially on the east side. So the regions allowed for the removal of the 7250 total full...
I will say, I'm 5'7" and think the Owyhee doesn't make me want more. But for the Absaroka, I used it on two different hunts this summer where we set it up and moved it each day. It's not hard to set up or tear down as long as you have the space for it.
Wish I had used the Rincon to compare for ya. What's your stature? That stove would be darn nice to have in the Rincon. I've only used the Absaroka for what you're talking about and it's been easy enough to find spots to pitch that, I'm not sure it'd be that tough to pitch the Rincon. Could be...
I have a question for you guys and this is sincere... If there are only 33% of the deer being killed today than 16 years ago, and 12% of the doe harvest, why do you think there's a problem with too many hunters?
In every state that I've hunted or researched across the west, the buck harvest is...
Hey all. This map and chart from the first round of the Regional discussion is probably helpful for you guys wanting to know how they came up with the numbers.
A piece that's being accounted for in the increase of licenses given is that there is somewhat of a significant amount each year of...

Haha. I mean, I’m one of those disciples when it’s not hunting season. 🤷♂️ 😂
Regarding this topic, I’ve been planning this upgrade since before season and really, I’m just impressed with the in-depth gear and conversations here that push the envelope the past few months. I also understand...
